Wouldnt the movie just be more successful called Chronicle 2? Only comic book fans would notice that the movie is sort of a nod to the FF4. And the rest would think it's just another Chronicles film.

Writer Simon Kinberg Talks Fantastic Four Reshoots and Confirms Trailer Date

The fact that we've seen nothing from The Fantastic Four means that everyone is thinking the worst of it, with plenty of reports (like the one earlier today) claiming that the reboot is in trouble.

Well, the movie's producer and writer Simon Kinberg has reached out to Latino-Review with the following statement: "To confirm - Fantastic Four will be doing 3-4 days of additional photography with director Josh Trank and some key cast members. We are very excited about the film and can't wait for you to see what we've been up to. And you will be able to do that very soon as I can confirm here that the teaser will be on Kingsman in theaters February 13."

It's worth noting of course that Kinberg isn't going to contact them and admit that the movie is in trouble, but three to four days of additional shooting is a lot different to the weeks of reshoots we heard about earlier, and I don't think he would tell an outright lie about how extensive they are.

The main thing to focus on here is the fact that we now FINALLY know when the trailer will reach us! With a Super Bowl TV spot likely, it will obviously be early February that we start getting to see more from The Fantastic Four, including a poster and stills hopefully.

Most of the problems I see people have with those leaks is "OMG NOT LIKE THE COMIC," which I couldn't care less about. Also: leaks are leaks, wait for real stuff.

The biggest issue, for me, is Dr. Doom is an internet blogger. Take that shit somewhere else. He is the ruler of a country and arguably the most powerful villain in the Marvel universe. Him being a blogger just makes no sense.

Assuming that leak is even accurate or a proper summary, why is it hard to wait and see? Even if it's not the Doom from the comics does that make it instantly bad? Can't it still be a great movie? I don't read comics but I do read books, so I know adaptations can often be a lot different. That doesn't make them bad though, it just makes them different. If King's The Gunslinger is ever made into a movie I'm sure it won't be anything like the book but it could still be a great movie.

I've never understood the whole "it's not like the book so it sucks" mentality. They're movies. Also Marvel themselves make huge changes too, as evidenced by The Mandarin being a corporate white dude who breathes fire.

I am waiting and seeing plus I have no problems with changing source material. If it is a good change. Taking such a powerhouse like Doom and making him a blogger is ridiculous. Speakin of The Mandarin, the incarnation of his character in Iron Man 3, played by Guy Pearce, is much more in line with how the Mandarin is portrayed in the comics more recently. Ben Kingsleys Mandarin is the old one so it isn't the fairest comparison but I get what you're saying. I hope the Doom blogger thing is a rumor but if it isn't, that's the second time that the character has been ruined.

Fantastic Four Trailer Might Drop Earlier Than We Thought

Following reports yesterday that The Fantastic Four is in some serious trouble, Simon Kinberg would fire back at those claims by revealing that the first trailer for the movie is set to be attached to Kingsman: The Secret Service. As a result, most of us assumed that we MIGHT get a first look at the movie during this year's Super Bowl, with the trailer itself being released online shortly after.

Well, according to Bleeding Cool, Fox PR got in touch with them to reveal that The Fantastic Four trailer will be in "a majority but not all" UK cinemas with the Mark Millar adaptation when it opens on January 29th. That's two weeks sooner than the US, and means we will more than likely see it online before the end of this month. In fact, it could end up hitting any day now...

I find myself in a very awkward position now. I stand to eat a metric ton of crow if I'm wrong and the movie ends up being a success. On the other hand, I get to crow if it's as bad as I... well, am hoping. And let me emphasize, my schadenfreude comes from simply wanting the rights to revert, nothing personal against the cast and crew of Fantastic Four or even Fox.

So, I wait with bated breath. Dreading a success since I end up with egg on my face and the characters get trapped in potential mediocrity where a failure means more damage to the franchise, but it may be back in the hands of people wit a long term vision, but the ability to make lemonade out of lemons.
