Even when loaning a blu to my mother who lives in the apartment upstairs it goes in a spare case with no artwork, usually if theres also a dvd copy she will borrow that one. People don't understand collecting the slipcover sand things of that nature.

No. But, I give my dvd copy's of combo packs away to friends, coworkers, or anyone who cares about a certain movie but isn't a movie geek like myself.

One of the reasons why I don't lend out my collection to anyone. No one values your belongings more than you.

I'm sure your relatives won't mind letting you borrow their credit card after all it's only a "piece of plastic".

my rule of thumb:

Never loan ANYTHING that you can't afford to lose.

For those of us who do like to lend out our movies to friends, does anyone know of any good websites or such where you can input your collection and your friends can request to borrow them and have it also keep track of who has borrowed it and all that?

No. I used to loan out DVD's to friends but got tired of them coming back trashed or not at all. If a friend wants to watch one of my Blu's, they can come over and watch it with me.

I have in the past, but stopped due to them coming back scratched. I can't afford to buy replacements.

No. I do give away DVDs and sometimes I buy a Blu-ray I already have then I give them away.

If I have a DVD of it I will lend it out. I stopped lending my BD's after going through my collection and realizing I was missing 7 titles.

Let me know when Hell freezes over.

When that happens, I'll start lending out my Blu-rays.

No way, José! Most of my friends leave their discs lying around out of the cases. I think I'm the only person within my own circle of friends that would treat them well. lol

Ya, but that's software. I'm looking for something web-based where I can share the link with friends and allow them to see my collection and such.

I'm the only person I know who takes care of things. So, no. I don't lend blu-rays, or anything else for that matter. I used to, but I've learned my lesson.

I don't know if any of you remember the Sleepaway camp box set that came out on dvd a few years back, but a good friend of mine barrowed it for a Halloween movie night he was having. I got the discs back all in good shape but the box they were in was gone. He said someone spilled beer on it and it was thrown away. I learned my lesson then.

No I don't.. I used to loan DVDs but they never came back so no way I am going to loan BD. Besides others never take care of stuff that isn't theirs the way you would want them taken care of. I don't know how many times I would go to my friends place and there is discs out of the case laying around everywhere then you say something and it always a who cares kind of attitude.

To friends...generally, no.

To family members...I usually will. I'll loan out the DVD to my parents or sister if it's a combo pack. If there is no DVD, I'll put the disk in an extra case and let them take it home with them.
