The other aspect is why Amazon continues to sell these if they're bootlegs. Shouldn't the studios be able to stop Amazon and other retailers from selling these if they are bootlegs effectively slowing the sales of these titles?

I guess there could be something in Spanish law that makes it extremely difficult for the studios to stop this.

Maybe but we have plenty of dual releases in the US. Look at Universal's The Shadow, Halloween II, Darkman, The Game, etc.
It has been confirmed by all the studios that the Resen releases are unlicensed and therefore should be considered pirated materials. All of the studios do their best to contain piracy but it is epidemic and incredibly difficult to confront and enforce. Obviously collectors are at liberty to purchase these items, and it is a matter of personal conscience and probity. However, buying into this stuff only adds fuel to the studios' inherent decision-making to back away from catalogue as each every one of these sales likely deters a legitimate release.
