Glad to see Zardoz selling well. I was of the mind that going to 5,000 was kind of risky.

With this selling so quickly and wondering if I should purchase this from TT before it's no longer available (still bummed I didn't get Rollerball but I hadn't even known it had been released by Twilght Time at the time), I decided to rent it via streaming through Amazon last night. I had never even heard of this movie, and I grew up in the 70's and was quite cognizant of what was being shown in theaters in that era, even as a kid. I'd have been 7 when this was in the theaters. I don't at all remember this even being advertised on TV when I was a kid.

Anyway, it was an interesting movie. It held my attention all the way through. And all in all I liked it. I can see why some people hold this unique movie in high esteem. But for my personal tastes I didn't like it enough to want to own it (which is a relief for my wallet as I do want to place another order with TT during this sale). I would be interested in hearing that second commentary track that is only available on this TT release, but it's not to be for me at least. (I might rent the DVD to hear John Boorman's commentary however).

For those who are hoping to get this from TT, I hope you are able to do so before it sells out whenever that may be.

Thank you, I wasn't aiming for a review. You might be right about the last act, as fiftysomething I may see the film differently than a tweensomething.

Oh, sweet Tabernacle, it DOES have the (a) theatrical trailer on it! You'll love it. And an isolated music score.

And to underline my comment about it having to be "deep," enjoy the poster's teaser line, "Beyond 1984. Beyond 2001,..."

As someone said on the last page, I feel like as a serious fan of sci-fi movies this is a must-own even if I don't end up liking it. It's such a singular movie and is so well-known that I feel like even if I hate it I won't be disappointed, I will be glad I finally saw it. Absolute worst-case scenario I find it so boring that I re-sell it for about the same as what I paid for it. :P

Or there will be a lot of people who find it an interesting, wacky, cerebral, and unique film and they will be pleasantly surprised that they finally discovered a very cool film that they never saw before.
