Pretty damn good. I saw it at a film festival in New Zealand.

Years ago when I was connected with FOX the laserdisc was also 2.0 matrixed, as was the later releases in other formats. Perhaps only the original stems for the 4.0 mix are lost?
Anyone know?
The DVD was 3.0 if I remember correctly (I don't know how many films used this, but I think Fox had a number of 3.0 films from the 1970s). I thought I had read that was what the BD would be too???

Just an fyi, all of the release prints for ZARDOZ are mono, and there were never any 4.0 true stereo tracks. What Fox had for this brand new restoration is an L-C-R that is spread across the front three channels, with no activity in the surrounds at all. We went back and forth with them as to how to describe the audio on the packaging as 3.0 is an unusual designation, particularly as the L-C-R contains basically the same info in all channels. It is really what used to be called "fat" mono, and we felt that 2.0 was a more accurate way to describe it, as indeed there is info Left and Right, but it is closer to mono than stereo.

I will pick uo Zardoz for sure, but it will have to wait a bit since I already purchased 12 TT titles in the last couple of weeks .

If anyone is waiting to order Zardoz, I would not wait too long. It looks to be on its way to being sold out.

Good to see it's selling well. Justifies more remasters of divisive sci-fi classics I hope.

If I made my living betting on which blu-ray titles would sell well, it wouldn’t be much of a living.

I'm glad I checked this page today. I totally forgot that the preorder for Zardoz was going up. It's really selling fast! Got my order in along with A Candle for the Devil.

The checkout rejected my card. Probably requires a legit Visa.

They still run your card through to make sure it won't get rejected.

Unbelievable! I saw this in the theater when I was 8 or 10 years old with a buddy. We left laughing at the goofiness of the whole thing. I've seen it in the last couple of years and I still like it (enough to order it), but I appreciate it with a different perspective. And it's still goofy. I'm surprised that there are 3000 other non-scalping folks out there that like it enough to pay the $30+ admission!

Congrats to TT for being farsighted enough to print 5000, and good luck to them with their slow sellers.

Glad to see Zardoz selling well. I was of the mind that going to 5,000 was kind of risky.

With this selling so quickly and wondering if I should purchase this from TT before it's no longer available (still bummed I didn't get Rollerball but I hadn't even known it had been released by Twilght Time at the time), I decided to rent it via streaming through Amazon last night. I had never even heard of this movie, and I grew up in the 70's and was quite cognizant of what was being shown in theaters in that era, even as a kid. I'd have been 7 when this was in the theaters. I don't at all remember this even being advertised on TV when I was a kid.

Anyway, it was an interesting movie. It held my attention all the way through. And all in all I liked it. I can see why some people hold this unique movie in high esteem. But for my personal tastes I didn't like it enough to want to own it (which is a relief for my wallet as I do want to place another order with TT during this sale). I would be interested in hearing that second commentary track that is only available on this TT release, but it's not to be for me at least. (I might rent the DVD to hear John Boorman's commentary however).

For those who are hoping to get this from TT, I hope you are able to do so before it sells out whenever that may be.

To the person or persons at Twilight Time who spoke up at the meeting to say, “Let’s go with 5000 copies of Zardoz instead of 3000,” I realize you were probably joking at the time. Having said that, feel free to PM me any similar jokes about penny stocks.

This is the movie you suggest as a blind buy to someone you never want to hear from again. Unfathomable. Fortunate, but unfathomable.

For me, it’s this:
