I'd have to put the 805 over the 3800. I've been a HUGE Yamaha fan for years, but the new Onkyo models really impressed me, especially with 2 channel music. I couldn't believe I'd ever use the words sound-stage with an AVR that cost less than $1000. But I still regard the Marantz higher in over all AQ for music.
