Yes because te first two words I think of to describe Marvel's movies is grounded and realistic. Can't tell if you are being sarcastic or not.

I don't use those words. Snyder, Nolan, Whedon, Marvel, DC etc.etc...use those words. I don't think there's anything realistic about ANY comic book movie -ESPECIALLY MARVEL-. But they're using the words, so where do they apply?

Compare the comic book films of the likes of Nolan, Whedon, etc, to something like Schumacher's Batman & Robin, and I guess you could argue they are grounded and realistic. But using those words to describe a comic book movie is playing fast and loose with the definition, lol.

Of the movies released I like a lot more X-Men movies than MCU movies, and I find there to be less poor X-Men movies than poor MCU movies. This is a personal opinion I have that you do not have to share. It is okay for humans to disagree. |

So, uh, I really don't think this means anything, but Tom Holland just posted this on Instagram. But it's definitely going to add to speculation. And it would be AWESOME to see Spider-Man show up in Daredevil.

OK, so guess they'll want to use an unused villain again. I mean, that's one of the main attracting factors for audiences: a different baddie each movie. These are the top yet to be adapted villains:
Carnage Now, we probably won't see Carnage before Venom, if they want to keep to the source material. Hobgoblin I never really understood why/how Hobgoblin came first in the '90s series. Plus, I like his story of reinventing the Green Goblin, becoming almost a phantom goblin. So, I don't think it'll be him. Shocker I've always enjoyed his schemes. Especially in the trilogy video games. But I don't think he would make for a good villain for a 2 hour movie. Maybe for a 80-90 minute movie. Unless they have Kingpin be the big bad, only then could I see him be the special fx villain. Chameleon Personally don't know many stories starring him. But if they wanted to go with a mystery suspense thriller story, with maybe the framing Spider-Man and Peter Parker storylines that might work. Then include Matt Murdock as Peter lawyer and DareDevil helping Spider-Man. Maybe include the Kingpin or Tombstone. That actually sounds pretty cool. But perhaps not for the first solo movie? Maybe it would. It's not very high school oriented. Scorpion I've always been intrigued by this character. He's sort of like the original Eddie Brock in a way, at least how they portrayed him in the '90s series. He's down on his luck, gets powers beyond his imagination and goes mad from it and becomes bonded with his suit. (That was only to give insight on the comparison) What's really interesting about this character is his origin with J. Jonah Jameson. Showing a much darker side of J.J. and possibly letting his hatred and arrogance get to his head. There's been quite a bit of Frankenstein storylines throughout the MCU - so we might just see it again with Scorpion. Vulture We've yet to really see any villain capable of flight in any Spider-Man films or any MCU films. (Goblin's sort of count, but the choreography lacked in really showing what can be done. Probably due to the technology at the time.) Outside of possibly tying into that the military stole Toomes' tech for the Falcon wing pack, similarly to the first episode of The Spectacular Spider-Man, I'm not too familiar with any of his well known story lines. But I do hope they cast David Strathairn when they do cast him eventually. Mysterio Everyone's #1 pick. But, why? He does have one of the coolest costumes ever. But if written poorly - he's a one trick pony hack who can't get over getting fired from a job thanks to being exposed by our hero. He's been interpreted in many fashions throughout the decades and has had many different agendas; some cheesy, some mind bendingly scary, or time altering. So, if fishbowl is their go to guy, they have a lot to choose from. But they gotta stick with it. My idea? Keep it simple. And get inspired by again (and I say again because watch it again after watching Iron Man 1) by Ghostbusters. The comedy tone is identical. And that's what Mysterio should be. Cut out Beck like they cut out Blake from Thor. Mysterio is after a mcguffin, and his tricks aren't illusions... They're real! Terrorizing NYC just as the ghosts did in Ghostbusters. Having it be a bit tongue in cheek, but not over done. Perhaps the mcguffin could even be an Infinity Stone? Why not? So, that's one way to take it. Since they're inspired by the '80s with John Hughes - continue to go with it. Kraven the Hunter What? You thought Mysterio was my only #1 as well? Nope! But he and Kraven are my top choices. I think Kraven is very likely in the scheme of things in the storylines of Phase 3 of the MCU. He can be the left overs, a continuation of the registration act. Sort of like a bounty hunter of sorts. There could be some humor to Kraven to see him walking in a crowd of New Yorker (if he's dressed similarly to his comic duds.) Spider-Man has become NYC's 5 boroughs' own personal guardian. Enter either Kingpin, Tombstone or Mr. Norman Osborn himself to place the bounty or the hiring of Kraven and possibly his partner Calypso. In the end, Kraven could become obsessed with Spider-Man or end up maybe fighting along side Spider-Man. Last edited by SteamPunkCat; 07-16-2015 at 05:04 AM. |
