to be honest i buy or rent films like romantic comedies on dvd .. like fools gold, 27 dresses, made of honour, whats happens in vegas etc..

i dont think they are worth the purchase in HD... and my wife likes the genre so we end up watching quite a few titles like that..

The money for action movies are often in the sound design or visual effects. The money for romcom are in set design, make-up and costume design. You may not appreciate it but the craft is still there and better in HD.

Getting back on topic, I'm STILL wrestling with the idea of getting Christina Aguilera's Back To Basics: Live & Down Under concert DVD. I'm don't know how long I can hold out before the BD version comes out.

Once i went blu, there was no going back

for about 2 months or so before i upgraded there were so many dvds i wanted to see, but wasnt waisitng the money on them

i just broke down and bought a dvd too. i bought the back to the future trilogy. but i got full frame. does it matter though since i have a 32 inch hdtv? or should i get widescreen instead?

In restrospect, insisting on widescreen only was the only sound choice I made in buying DVD. Because I KNEW one day everything would be widescreen TV. I just never anticipated high def disc.

Therefore I have the "Back to the Future" trilogy on widescreen. Now make like a tree, and exchange the full screen version.
