I can see it being in the ballpark of what Stanton got, but close to (or at) half a billion? no ****ing way.

Harper needs to have some injury free seasons, to maximize his potential. I would give that money to Trout and about five other players before Harper. He needs to mature a little bit more. Some of his ejections from games are so childish. He makes Puig look pro, by that standards.

Our fault for taking advantage of the gift you guys gave us. With that said, crazier things have happened (they were expected to no only sweep, but to blow ya out).

It looks like Jeff Samardzija made a big mistake playing out his contract and waiting for free agency to get a new deal. The Cubs tried several times to sign him before trading him last season and the White Sox tried signing him after trading for him, but from what I've read Samardzija has a big union background and thought it was in the best interest of the union to wait for free agency so he could get as big a deal as possible. Now Samardzija is having by far the worst season of his career with a 5.27 ERA and has 3 games where he's given up at least 9 earned runs, so it looks like he'll either have to take a deal well below what he could have gotten in the past or sign a 1-year deal and hope to do better next season and try to get a long-term deal after the 2016 season.

If his agent is good, that's what he'll recommend him to do unless some team is crazy and gives him a long term deal.

The Jays bullpen is BAD. That meltdown today was brutal.

Jays are now 13-26 in 1-run games. Those 1-run losses account for 41% of their season loss total.

Undoubtedly the weak part of our team, but I really like our chances once we get to October.
