Because one works for his tv, and the other doesn't. Did you read the post?

OP, personally I'd maybe look at investing in a new HDTV before the receiver. I had some old RCA HDTV's (member of the family works there and we got them super cheap) and... well, they're not so good. I've had 3 or 4 different models and am now on an LCD via HDMI and there is a world of difference. I would recommend the set first and then consider the receiver.
