The whole point of bringing balance to the Force was that Anakin eventually merged the virtue's of the Jedi and the emotion of the Sith. The Jedi were a dogmatic religious order who's rules often led to them doing some pretty messed up things, or at the least, turning a blind eye to horror. The Sith on the other hand were dominated by emotion, which is what created Vader but also ended him. Anakin brought balance by destroying the Jedi and the Sith... and leaving the Force in a renewed, cleansed place.

That's why speculating on where Luke fits into into Episode VIII is exciting, and why Snoke/Ren fully rejecting the fundamental aspects of the Sith (hence why Ren knew he needed to purge something Vader couldn't, emotions for his family) is so interesting and full of potential. Vader's done, though. His arc is finished thematically and literally in the narrative. Bringing him back would be the worst fan service ever, and it'd piss a lot of people off too.

No matter what they do they will piss a large segment of the fans off, there is no universal Star Wars fan that agrees on everything.

I am not saying it will be the best idea, or that it will be the only thing that could work, just that I happen to like the idea and gave my reasons.

This is slightly off topic, but does anyone know whether there's a comic adaptation of Force Awakens currently available or coming out? There are many books based on the film but I can't find a comic adaptation of it anywhere.

My oldest son HATED the very end part (helicopter angle) but I liked it as it's "new" to the SW world. I thought it was fine.

Loved the intensity of the emotion between Luke and Rey.

[Show spoiler]The intensity in Hamill's face. He said so his much without uttering a word. The 360° flyaround or whatever you want to call it was excellent.
This was one of several things in the movie that told me the new trilogy was not just going to honor the old but take Star Wars to new places and styles.

I wasn't too happy about that shot either. All the other films ended on a static tableau shot of the characters either facing the camera in triumph or looking away from the camera toward an uncertain future. TESB cheated a little by having the tableau shot as the second to last shot. This film didn't have any.

I loved it, it felt like it was symbolic that "okay now we are done with the re-introduction you can expect us to be bold and try new things with the next one," sort of scenario.

Perhaps an anthology film, but please no Vader in the remainder of the "Skywalker" series.

On a separate note, about all the theories on Snoke being a certain former dark lord of the sith, 2 things preclude that:
1) Andy Serkis has been on record saying Snoke is simply Snoke, and is no other character from the canon. I'm one to believe Serkis on this.
2) When talking to Vader's helmet, Kylo Ren references how Snoke has sensed the light in him returning or something like that. If Snoke was Vader, he'd be talking to Vader about Vader? Nah. I think Snoke is as Serkis has said, just Snoke.

That was actually the one bit I had a problem with too. It was as though we'd suddenly switched to TV news coverage.

Yeah. In episode IV there were 1 or 2 vague references to the emperor. In Empire, we catch a glimpse of his giant head in the hologram and few other vague references. All of a sudden the cat shows up in Episode VI and we see just how powerful and dark he is. Long story short, he's a bit of mystery. We take Palpatine for granted now because we've seen all three films and we've learned who he is.

Just because Snoke is mysterious, now, doesn't mean he's Plagueis, or Vurder, or anyone else from old canon, official or unofficial. I think, when all is said and done, he'll end up being his own character, some cat named Snoke (stupid name).

What wouldn't make sense is Vader surviving his full blown bbq funeral and Kylo talking to the melted helmet instead of calling him on the holophone.

Yeah, I don't buy into the whole 'JJ is a TV director at heart and that makes his films less cinematic' but every now and again that does creep in and here it kinda stomped in.

Great description.

Nice, stupid, but nice, now try forming an actual argument for why you disagree with the idea with WORDS.

First, nothing in the film suggests Snoke would reveal his secret to Ren if it were true so that negates the him talking to his helmet as proof.

Second, you cannot trust the words of people behind the scenes they are not going to reveal spoilers.

Third, it is a theory, I like it I think it could work but I am not saying it has to be true or that it is the only direction they will, or should, go.

Going to see this for the first time tonight. I'm not a Star Wars fan (only seen bits and pieces of the originals/sequels), but my mum wants to go so what the heck?

I don't think you have to be a Star Wars fan to enjoy it. I took three people over the holidays who either don't like any of the others or have never seen them, all three thought it was either okay or pretty good. Nobody hated it. Welcome to the club, we are cult-like but you get used to it.

I'm trying to go in open-minded, so hopefully I'll enjoy it.

Um,

Sucking up a sun would probably get that sun to go super-nova, etc.
Most (all) sci-fi is not really following science, as that'd be so boring.

Also, the starkiller would need a sun for it's trees, etc... killing your own sun, is not such a great idea :-)

"Sun" is a proper noun that we named our Star... what are the chances that another galaxy's particular solar system also named their star "Sun".

Also, by sucking the star and containing it, the solar systems heat would dissipate and kill all life anyway within minutes or hours or days, so there really is no need to BLAST any planets if that was your plan. Sucking the star would suffice.

hehe, I loved the movie though, 9.4/10!
(here's hoping we see multiple colors of lightsabers! jot just blue and red, or even green... but orange, yellow, purple, or even pink!)

It has already been confirmed for Episodes VIII and IX that we'll see some new color lightsabers a la the green one from Jedi being "new".
