I'm going to try and talk you out of that: The touch is by far the sexiest handheld device I've ever seen/purchased.... GET ONE!!!!!

It's also really fun and useful because of the apps. My free time is now spent playing games like De Blob, Jewel Quest, X-Plane 9, Krash Kart Racing, Tetris, Aqua Forest, Werdle, Critter Crunch, Frontier Man, etc etc etc. I have more fun with this device than I ever did with my PSP.

i had an ipod touch (the 8g in fact) and i thought that while it was a great looking package it lacked in a lot of areas. if you're dead set on getting an ipod i would go with one of the classics. the touch needs a lot more work before it can be considered truly great. the second biggest feature, wi-fi capability, sucks big time. it hardly ever works. even at hot spots where it's supposed to work. so in the end all you're left with is a media device that has touch capabilities. and when pitting it against some of the other products out there on the market it starts to pale. that wi-fi capability is key for the touch and it's crippled severely.

The wifi in the Touch/iPhone works fantastic. You probably had a faulty one.

I'm pretty sure that $230 for a Touch is a damn good price. You could get two Zunes for that much...but they're strictly media players. Look at some of the apps for the Touch, it's MUCH more than just a media player. And it has a screen that's twice as large..

well it may have been a faulty one, but i'm not so sure. it would work, but only about 1% of the time and it never worked at their hot spots. which seemed very odd to me. and the touch was never $230. my 8g ipod touch cost me close to $350. that's just too much money for 8g of space. the price has gone down, but now i've got a newish zune with a 3 year warranty so i don't plan on changing anytime soon. the zune though is not just a media player. it's got a built in fm radio, it's got wi-fi capabilities as well, and it's got bunch of new apps features. the zune doesn't get as much as credit as it deserves.

Are you kidding me? You must of had a defective ipod because i use my wifi EVERYWHERE. It dosn't work if i have a really weak connection but i can get online with full bars ANYWHERE in my house or any of my friends houses. I have had 0 problems with my touch and you can get a 32gb for 330 right now. You can't compare a zune to a ipod touch becuase of all the amazing apps in the touch. The accelorometer is also amazing; it's one of the main features of the touch. The games are incredibly fun and the picture on the thing is amazing.

i could hardly ever get the internet to work. i'm guessing that bug may have been fixed. i got the first generation ones so that would explain a lot. i don't care for apps though. i don't really need all that junk. play my movies and music and i'm fine. i don't care for games either. if i'm going to play games i'm going to play it on my psp. most games for the ipod cannot compare to the psp anyway. but i'm not really that much a gamer. don't get me wrong, i thought the ipod touch looked sweet and wanted it to be killer. the hype wasn't all that justified though. i liked it. i just wish it could've been better.

I Really don't think the iPods are going to drop much. Perhaps the Nano's will but not the iTouch.

Yeah I was thinking of using Craigslist too, but idk its hard to trust CL because its easy to scam on there. I was gonna use Amazon if I cant get a good store discount ha.

I trust CL more than I trust ebay. I never had a problem on CL. You meet the person face to face do the transaction and DONE! no shipping no waiting, no issues.

Apple doesn't offer an iPod in that size now at all...

I don't remember much if any discount last year.
