JFK
Shawshank Redemption
Being There
Woodstock
The Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring
King Kong (original)
Gone with the Wind
The Matrix 10th Anniversary
Rush Hour

Good to know. I'll definitely be picking these up:
The Lord of the Rings
King Kong
The Matrix
Amadeus

I've already got JFK pre-ordered.

I think this would be the first almost-announcement that yields a high ratio of quality titles.. SO sick of announcements with nothing but dreck!

I want:

Trying...to restrain...myself about making snide comments about lossy audio on a gimped BD-25. If Amadeus doesn't have lossless audio I am going to get very mad.

Probably just the 1st movie by itself, like so many seem to clamor for.

Could be an individual release for the people who didn't like the other two.

Great childhood memory of watching the Wizard of Oz every year on CBS... sponsored by Dolly Madison snack cakes. We'd fill this giant green bowl with popcorn, and watch it all the way through...

Utterly irrelevant to the thread... ...but the Dolly Madison mention reminds me of when Dolly used to sponsor the Peanuts holiday specials, complete with animated Peanuts commercial spots.../nostalgia

I'd like to think that Warner will be strictly on the lossless bandwagon by the time most of these titles street. I might buy the original Kong with lossy audio, but if Woodstock or Amadeus hit w/o lossless, I'll have to assume some folks at WB have simply lost their frickin' minds.

Awesome news, thanks! But the real question is... how is Poltergeist!?! I'm dying to know what the PQ is like. One of my all time faves. Thanks!

I thought King Kong was Universal. . . .

Lord of the Rings - 7.1 DTS - both Theatrical and Extended via seamless branching; and it will be a "triple dip" for me.

The original King Kong, as in the 1933 film, which Warner has the distribution rights for.

edit: Paramount has the rights to the 1976 one, so Warner is definitely talking about the 1933 one.
