Thanks, Owl. I figured as much. The source used for the DVD set isn't too bad, considering the history of the show. I think I'll pick this up.

Saw on a random shelf Eddie and the Cruisers I & II at the Best Buy in Soquel, CA way earlier today for $12.99. Might be available at other Best Buy locations too.

Saw it in Braintree, MA today. It isn't just you. Also saw copies of Jeepers Creepers 2 & ROTLD.

Oh right I also saw copies of RotLD on the shelf but no Jeepers Creepers 1 or 2. I did see they had Manhunter in another part of their Blu-ray section though.
Unless if they had the Pricetags for Jeepers Creepers 1 and 2 already there but I wasn't really paying attention. Going to buy RotLD: C.E. when I get the next Best Buy Rewards Certificate. Mainly because I'd rather not spend over $20 for a catalog title on Blu-ray anymore.

Does anyone think those limited to 1,000 Blu-Rays will sell out quickly? I want to get them but would rather wait for the price to drop.

I doubt there will ever be a price drop.. also, if you want to see that particular line of titles continue you'd best buy the titles now. This is an experiment by Shout Factory to test the waters on some of it's more obscure titles. If these take forever to sell out or don't at all, they won't release anything else. Whenever something is limited to 1000 units it's best not to wait if you are a fan and really want whatever is being offered. There won't be represses of these.

I don't think there will be any price drops, whether it takes 3 months or 3 years for them to sell out.

I'm waiting for them to offer free shipping, then I will buy them. I can't justify paying $25 shipping to Canada when they offer free shipping to Canada every few months.

Oh ok... Thanks.

As long as it's not about a movie that is of any importance.

Yeah those ultra-limited releases are very deliberately a test by Shout to see if there's a market for super obscure titles they can get their hands on. In fact, they said that in the email that went out announcing them. So definitely buy as soon as you can if you're into any of them and/or just want to see what else they have to offer!

I've often wondered why a company like Shout! Factory doesn't do some sort of voting/polling system for more obscure releases. Like, put out a poll with around 5 titles or so and whichever gets the majority vote would be released. Seems like a logical, fun thing to do. Although... The voice of the people isn't always reliable and doesn't always translate into real sales (See: Serenity's theatrical release or the Scarecrows Blu-ray), sooo... Perhaps I've answered my own question.

Army of Darkness isn't a limited blu right? Ive been waiting awhile for Amazon to get it back in. Im Prime so I'm cool with waiting to use the "free" shipping but I wanted to check that I wasn't waiting for something thats never coming back in stock.

That would be my luck by the time I realized SF will be sold out on their site as well lol

No it's not limited. I mean, they all are to some extent because the license will expire, but it will be years.

But are they likely to become rare and sell for massive premium 20 years from now? The only reason I ask is I only bought selected titles and in case I decide to buy other titles long after rights expire I don't want these to be hard to find/ expensive.

Don't ever buy because of something's worth 20(?!) years from now. Few people care to own AOD on Blu-ray now. That number will be much less 20 years from now.

No I don't buy the titles in hopes of profiting later. I just meant whether these have a good chance of becoming rare or expensive later like the Friday the 13th blu-ray set/ double features. If so, I might get some more titles before rights expire so I don't regret not getting them while still available/ reasonably priced.
