I just checked and it doesn't appear there's a listing for the U.K. set on Amazon UK yet.

I wouldn't pay more than $15 for either film in terms of a single blu-ray release. I'm happy to hear these films are being released, but they are certainly not worth more than that price in my opinion.

I know some are rather iffy with Zavvi, but it's already available to pre-order there.

Heck Best Buy already had it up for pre-order at $42.99. So it's already there.

Awesome, will deffinetely buy this. I wish part 3 was in too. I will never forget the meat grinder scene on that one.

Edit: nevermind, just saw the comments about the U.K. Box with all 4.

I get that point, but you have to look at it from the perspective of the cost being put into the whole thing. A new transfer, art and so many special features. This company prides itself in that department and have that audience that will gladly fork over that extra $10 for all of that as opposed to a bare bones lackluster release.

I don't think a price under $20 equates to a lackluster bare bones release. I'm sure the list price for a single disc will be over $20. I just don't think that a B-movie, catalogue title should be an expansive one.

It's actually the smaller niche titles that need to cost more, since less people buy them. Supply and demand.

Really loved part I and II, but never saw III and IV.
So I'm wondering if the UK box set is really worth it.
Based off the trailers, House III looks more like Shocker II than an installment in the House series. House IV, which I've read is the real Part III? actually recasts William Katt! But it still looks like a poorly budgeted made for TV version of Poltergeist I and II.

Vinegar Syndrome does just fine with niche titles at affordable prices. So does Synapse minus a steelbook and 2 or 3 bonus features so kinda mutes your points honestly.

Does anyone know if House 1 and 2 will be region free on the U.K. Set?

Those aren't multi movie sets and I am definitely familiar with VS and synapse respectively and the bare bones synapse do are mostly because of the recouped costs of the steelbook versions which people badger (and the barebones get the amazon treatment which are another topic entirely). The math is still there my guy. A couple exceptions that prove the rules don't mute a mathematically backed point.

Yep kinda does pal just saying your right doesn't make it so. But I'm done with the convo. My comments will probably be deleted while you keep cursing and not allowing others to have opinions is no big deal. Guess being a "special" member is a perk.

By the way I wasn't talking about a multi movie set I have no issues paying for something that's worth the value, obviously your reading skills are on par with your people skills.

It's the same reason why vinyl is more expensive than ever. I actually used to release music on an independent label but what the hell do I know about cost in a niche market? Specifically hardcore punk in a market of few.

Hey brother, mine got deleted too. I'm the furthest from special. It's just a very simple co crept that the less people who are expected to buy things in a market warrants a higher price. Physical media is dying wether you like it or not (I sure don't). There's literally no reason to argue. It's the nature of boutique product. Movies, music, hell even beer! Smaller batch = higher cost = higher msrp. I hate to get into an aggravating argument with you. I'm abrasive, admittedly. I just have experience and I have been through laserdisc , VHS, and DVD before being gifted the labels we have today. Hell call me a bitter old fart. We are lucky today. Preserving these otherwise forgotten gems is a miracle into itself.

I agree with most what you just said and wasn't trying to argue I have no issues buying arrow releases because they are worth the 20 or so I typically spend. Same with scream factory. My original comment was about the vestron line because I do believe most of the titles they release should be 15 to 20 since they dont pay to license the film's and they come in crappy eco cases.

Oh man I. That case you really have a point. Regardless there is a smaller market within that line, but they seriously do an overcharge given the overhead. I get it, business wise, but what can you expect from the huge guys discovering a new goldmine? Haha, thankfully bullmoose got my back and they end up being around $22.
