I'm hoping they fix that weird framing issue from the latest Blu-ray. If they do, I'm all over this.

That framing issue was largely exaggerated and based off one screen capture that was deceptive due to being part of a moving scene. Not saying the DVD wasn't better framed, just that it's not really all that impacting. Arrow's Hellraiser 3, now that is a release with crap framing that is super distracting.

I wouldn't say it's just one capture. It's noticeable on every single capture on DVD Beaver, to the point of altering symmetry and cutting off tops of heads. That would drive me crazy.

I do think the older framing was likely more accurate, based largely on this cap. I'm just saying I didn't find it distracting when watching the movie. It's not really obvious like it is on Hellraiser III and some other releases.

Time to Upgrade but I bet the Blu-ray disc with this will be the same per data as the Remastered release.

I just tried to compare the BD upscaled on my 4kTV to the images of the 4k download on capsaholic and man... even with a 60" television getting right up close to it the fine detail differences were too small to accurately assess. I was mainly trying to look at the gold patterns on Dracula's red cloak but it's too small to tell.

Not saying the UHD won't be better, it definitely offered a subtle but noticeable improvement on Labyrinth, but man... we're talking enthusiast central up in here.

Well 4K streaming will obviously have lesser bitrate compared to a hard-coded disc. Obviously which will have far greater bitrate since it's already on-disc and doesn't need to vary the compression based on the type of connection the consumer has to the internet. Of course wired ethernet is 100% more stable compared to Wi-Fi.

Those caps are from the download version I am pretty sure, which is 66GBs. Doubt the UHD will be much different even if it is on a 100GB disc.

Again, I am sure it will look a little better like Laybrinth does, but it's gonna be subtle.

HDR magic for a 1992 movie? I hope not!

Right, I just meant on detail. I also think the detail increase will show up more in motion with a general "tightness" improvement like Labyrinth had. I'm just evaluating how much more actual detail we get out of 35mm on UHD versus BD.

The downloaded version normally has multiple resolution files in the same package. The 4k version is probably a lot less than 66 GB.

I have the older release, so I'm hoping it will look better, I hate upgrading and the difference is negligible, especially at a price premium, but this is one of my wife's favorites.

My prediction is, the results will be very close to how it turned out for Goodfellas.

Music and use of colour should really benefit from UHD & HDR. This and Fifth Element, Alien and Aliens are the re-issues I've been waiting for most.

Was that stream HDR though?
