Yeah, I missed that Deep Discount sale, but it's all good. I'm an Amazon Prime member now, but Stryker is $22 and change on Amazon now, so I saved by going to Barnes & Noble. |

I could be totally wrong, but I'm pretty sure the reason it can't be revealed is that the studio itself has decided to release the title themselves? I mean, that makes the most sense, right? Also explains why Kino can't say anything about it, because the studio in question doesn't want it announced yet. For example... I was certain The Last Dragon would go to someone like Kino or Mill Creek or Scream Factory or Twilight Time... then out of nowhere, Sony releases a Blu-ray of it themselves. Sometimes a studio, even on a lesser-known flick, can sense when something is wanted by the marketplace. Of course, I could be totally way off. ![]() Last edited by WesReviews; 01-26-2017 at 12:58 PM. |

On The Keep: Mann wasn't happy with what Paramount did with the film (it was intended to be a three and a half hour epic released in the Summer with 70mm prints, instead it was cut in half and dumped into Christmas with Paramount giving its promotional money to Uncommon Valor and the wide expansion of Terms of Endearment) and he, along with F. Paul Wilson (who wrote the novel the film is based on), simply washed their hands of the matter (especially since Mann was busy developing a little show being filmed in Florida by the time the film opened).
On True Lies: it's more Cameron than Fox keeping this one from being released. There were plans for a special edition DVD back in 2002 but 9/11 happened and Cameron (whom I believe has part-ownership of the film as well, his company sold international rights to Universal in exchange for financing*) felt re-releasing the film so soon was in poor taste and had the DVD canceled. Around the same time, plans for a sequel were canceled. There were plans more recently for a True Lies series on ABC but Cameron had no involvement and it never really got past talks. * - This was part of a five-year deal signed after the release of Terminator 2 where Fox would co-finance and distribute domestically films produced or directed by Cameron. Cameron got international rights and would help handle additional financing. Though the deal was expected to handle 8-10 films, only two got made (True Lies and Strange Days). A third film, The Crowded Room, got held up in legal issues. |

Has Mann been made aware of *that*? Because he did an interview last year where he specifically said that the footage to do a director's cut of the film didn't exist anymore.

I'm pretty sure TT snatched Two for the Road the moment it became available. I remember it being discussed on FB a few years ago.

I remember hearing that after the theatrical cut Mann had said he was disappointed that man who over saw the special effects had died and no one knew how he was going to piece together the effect. Well, that no longer an issue. Digitally it can ne done. Mann just shut down on the issue. It's just weird how he has chosen to disassociate himself from the film over the years. |

No, the film was not taken from us, so it could be given to another label. It's a film that's never been released on DVD, highly requested and a much bigger title than Two For the Road. The film is not with another label, I thought it'll finally get a release and now I'm pretty sure it'll never be out.

It's either with another label, or cannot be released due to some legal issues. Just because it was cleared for TV doesn't mean it was for home video.

Just read the synopsis for No Man's Land and it sounds very similar to the first Fast and the Furious. Really stoked about this - an 80's version of one of the best action movies of the last 15 years, without the fancy camera moves, kinetic editing and impossible stunt work. Just my cup of tea
