Hoping Kino picked up They Shoot Horses..., Prizzi's Honor and The Paradine Case from this deal. But looking forward to all the announcements!

Not with Disney. I think I've said this five or six times in the last couple of days. SW, Sleuth and Heartbreak Kid are not with Disney, these and a few other Palomar titles are with another company. Not Fox or MGM either.

also The Heartbreak Kid I could swear that was owned by ABC films.

along with I think a couple titles with John Cassavetes such as Minnie and Moskowitz

Just some that were off the top of my head.

Great deal you guys got! Ugh sounds like I could remain broke the next few years with Kino Classics Line up!
Sleuth and Heartbreak Kid with Stepford Wives are with another company, not a major studio. Minnie & Moskowitz is a Universal title.

THE GRISSOM GANG
STRANGE VENGEANCE OF ROSALIE
ADAM AT SIX A.M.
DR. COOK'S GARDEN (made for TV)

STRANGE VENGEANCE OF ROSALIE and THE HEARTBREAK KID (1972) are not with Disney or any other major studio. ADAM AT SIX A.M. is with CBS.

I wonder where Woody Allen's TAKE THE MONEY AND RUN currently resides?

These titles were last released by Anchor Bay but that was from an old licensing agreement from the Media days.
I've heard Paramount paid them a very large amount which included remake rights. PM remade all three and released the originals on DVD, now they're all out of print and the very rich company expects the same type of payment for these titles from the next licensee, otherwise they say its not worth their time. I would be surprised if they every get released again in the U.S., unless they end selling the library outright which also includes few other Palomar titles or someone stupid overpays for them.

There is one title I would want but I think they did release it on DVD, and its a title nobody else would request: 1998's The Minion w/ Dolph Lundren, it was an acquisition through Touchstone.

Thank you.
Sorry, but I cannot confirm and deny any titles at this time.

We really appreciate the enthusiasm. Here's some additional info.

We don't have any, not even one titles from the actual Walt Disney library, so no Song of the South or any other unreleased features or cartoons. We also have no titles previously released on DVD under the BVHE banners (Buena Vista, Walt Disney, Touchstone, Hollywood, etc).

We have some TV movies in the deal, but I cannot confirm or deny anything at this time.

And no Lucasfilms, the right are with Lucas. None of those films can be sub-licensed to a third party label, since Lucasfilms licensed them to Disney/Fox. Just like WB didn't have the rights to the Lucas titles like the Indiana Jones films when they were handling the Paramount library.

No, it didn't. My boss and ex-head of acquisitions at olive did those deals and the only title they released which was previously released by Paramount was Bertolucci's 1900. Nothing else.

For that matter, how about an upgrade for "Nothing Sacred"? The blu-ray you have now is sourced from David Selznick's personal nitrate print, but Disney does have the rights to the original Technicolor negative.
Finally, I would love to pick up a blu of "Portrait of Jennie."
Peter Pan has nothing to do with this deal. It's not on our current radar.

Again, I'm sorry, but I cannot confirm or deny anything at this time.

Kino's prices are actually pretty reasonable all things considered, not to mention they have sales on Amazon rather frequently.
I have quite a few Criterions in my collections, possibly half of all their blu releases. The films Criterion releases, and the overall package, are a better value to me at $20-$30 than Kino/Olive releases are at $10-20. There are a few Kino films I'd happily pay more than $20 but not most of their releases which I wish were less than $10.

At least SLEUTH plays on cable TV. I haven't seen HEARTBREAK KID on cable in a very long time. I'm fortunate to still have a copy of the Anchor Bay DVD, widescreen but not anamorphic.
Some more Palomar pictures, the ones currently NOT with the Disney, Fox or MGM - The Stepford Wives and Strange Vengeance of Rosalie are two more.

The 23 Paces to Baker Street restoration is stunningly beautiful. Schawn Belston and his crew should be applauded, not just for this, but all of their other Fox restorations we've had the honor to release.

The fact that it sounds like nearly all of the Disney owned ABC Pictures and Selznick titles are likely to get released via this deal is really great news. There are a few of those titles (They Shoot Horses, Don't They? and Take the Money and Run, in particular) that I thought would likely sit without ever making it out. Obviously no titles can be confirmed yet, but I can't imagine licensing this catalog and not having those two in the Top 10 in terms of priority.

Hey Mr Lime, Thanks for all the latest news. Glad to hear about the Disney deal but also looking forward to those Bob Hope titles as well. Just for the record, I'd also like to second two of the previous motions: Dr Cook's Garden (Bing Crosby as a homicidal doctor(!) in his final film role) and Run with Patrick Dempsey. Would absolutely pick those up! Thanks again man!
