I'm leaning against TONY ROME on Blu-ray. I saw LADY IN CEMENT years ago and thought it was inferior to TONY ROME.
I have ONE MILLION YEARS BC on dvd and watched it two days ago to see if I should get the Bluy-ray version. The movie is pretty blah to me since it's main feature is a blonde Raquel Welch and cave people grunting to each other. Ray Harryhausen's special effects and dinosaurs are ok, but again, Welch's cleavage are the movie's main attractions (plural).
Ironically, cavegirl Martine Beswick and Welch were supposed to be in THUNDERBALL, but Welch instead appeared in FANTASTIC VOYAGE, and was replaced by my favorite Bond Girl, Claudine Auger.
I'll save my money for the Blu-ray ONE MILLION YEARS BC and use it for the Blu-ray version THE VALLEY OF GWANGI which showcases Harryhausen's dinosaurs a lot more than ONE MILLION YEARS BC.

The sweet spot of my movie watching and collecting has typically been the 1960's and 1970's era, and I love Italian movies from that era. I decided a few days ago to try some classic film noir for the first time and started with I Wake Up Screaming (to check out Carole Landis) and The Lady From Shanghai. I thought Screaming was decent, and I liked Shanghai a lot, which set me out on a Rita Hayworth kick and led to my Twilight Time backlog.

I watched Cover Girl and thought it was OK, but I'm not a huge fan of old musicals. No complaints about the Twilight Time transfer. Hayworth is definitely the main attraction. "Poor John" is an odd production number in the film, but I actually liked it the best.

Then I watched Pal Joey and liked it. Good job by Twilight Time. Hayworth looks older than her age, but she's still a screen presence. Sinatra and Novak were good, and there are some good music numbers. I would definitely recommend this disc. The bonus featurette on Novak is interesting, if rather short. I noticed that they never allowed a look at her face in the interview, only showing her walking at a distance. It was probably not long after that interview that she came out of seclusion to make some public appearances and was heavily criticized in some quarters for her appearance. I was really annoyed with those folks at the time, because I was just glad that such a classic star would make some public appearances that could be enjoyed by fans. It was noted in the interview that she never wore a bra, which was obvious in Pal Joey!

I intend to pick up some additional Twilight Time film-noir and Hayworth releases as prices are right and the budget permits. Any recommendations are appreciated.

For Twilight Time releases you should check out The Big Heat and Miss Sadie Thompson, and you might also want to take a look at the Criterion release of Gilda.

It'll be interesting to see how the PQ is on 'Who'll Stop the Rain' aka 'Dog Soldiers' because I remember that the first part of the film was really blurry on the MGM DVD (I guess what would've been the first reel?). After that first reel, it dramatically cleared up and looked as it should.

I thought at the time my DVD was somehow defective but found other amazon reviews noting the same thing + there used to be an imdb forum thread dedicated to how bad the first section looked.

Hopefully, Twilight Time are given a nice new master because they won't be able to recycle that one used for the DVD. If it were any other studio I wouldn't worry but it's MGM........

To which Gila Golan is just as easy on the eyes.

Man in the Moon is a good film. Out of the May/June releases I will get at least that one and the Bronson movies.

Yeah, I preordered all but The Chilly Scenes of Winter at SAE, and all of them shipped today. So, I guess all are shipping now.

I'm hoping for more extras on Inferno and then I'll have no problem double dipping, I can't imagine the transfer will be much different as the Panamint is quite good. I was hoping for Gun Fury in this slate of releases but I can live a few months more without it.

For those who missed out on the now-OOP TT edition of Experiment in Terror, Indicator/Powerhouse will be releasing a region-free disc with several extras.

I was wondering if Twilight Time would do an Encore of Experiment in Terror. I may have to look into getting this one.

Word from Twilight Time is that they are through with Encore Editions.

Besides, Experiment in Terror took 3½ years to sell out, so even if TT were still inclined to do encores, I doubt that EiT would be high on the list.
