PS3 is the best though!
Honestly, why the need to throw that in when the OP specifically mentioned "no PS3" ?

Just stating my opinion on the best blu-ray player, not offering it up as a choice. Hence it is separate from the choices. Why waste a post in pointing it out?

Because there is absolutely no need to add a comment like that. The OP asked what was a good player and "NO PS3" and you felt the "fanboi" need to add a petty remark.

No need to make a mountain out of a molehill.

Default best blu ray player

Specifically not mentioning the PS 3, I just bought the BDP 35k mentioned in another reply at amazon for 237 shipped. I saw someone mentioned futureshop. When I looked it was like 330 or something close with 3 free flicks.

I would recommend the Panasonics', either the BD35 or BD55. I remember reading this review someone posted, and liked what I read. As well, Futureshop has the DMP-BD35 on sale right now, with 3 free movies with purchase.

The only difference between the two models is that the BD35 will bitstream the HD audio to your receiver, and the BD55 can send it out via the analog outputs. But to know which would suit you better, it would help to know what equipment it's going to get connected to.
