Last night Diabolikdvd sent an email saying my order was sent to processing. Does anyone know how long it usually takes to receive the item after that?

I'm really looking forward to watching the original House in HD, it's one of the better horror/comedy's in my opinion. For some reason I really enjoy almost all of Steve Miners work, I know he's not one of the most celebrated horror directors of his time but there is just something fun and very rewatchable about his horror films. From his two Friday the 13th sequels to Warlock, Lake Placid, Halloween H20 and House I would say he has an extremely solid horror filmography.

The Steve Miner movies you mentioned are all extremely watchable. The Day of the Dead remake on the other hand, is just awful. But like you said, he's a decent horror movie director.

Probably goes without saying, but as an enormous fan of 80s horror/comedy, is House an essential purchase? I've always been very intrigued with the first two movies but they've never been widely available.
This Arrow U.S. set looks like the perfect opportunity to delve into them, even Part 2 looks a little too outlandish for my tastes. Recommended blind buy? |

Debating whether to grab the U.S. set and the Shout release of 3, or get the UK set. I like having region A copies of movies wherever possible, and it sounds like 4 isn't anything I'd miss. But how much better does 3 look and sound in the UK set is the question...

There has been a lot of hype around this release and I just want to caution people against a blind buy. Both films are available on Shudder. Nostalgia is a powerful force; I enjoyed this film very much as a child and I would compare it with The Gate.. IMO, however, The Gate holds up upon a recent re-watch of the Vestron release. This, did not. That's just me though.. check it out for yourself.
That said, I'm still buying it. But at least I know exactly what I'm getting into. Last edited by Mister B Gone; 03-23-2017 at 07:57 PM. |

I'm not region free, but have both the UK set and US set on preorder. I think I'm going to cancel the US set since it appears House 1 & 2 will be region free on the UK set. They cost about the same and I'll have the 2 extra movies to watch when I have a player that can play them.

When I really think about it the only movie I want out of the set is the first but I'm willing to pay a couple extra bucks to not wait for eventual individual release. It's a nice bonus that the US set comes with part 2 and I'll give it another chance one day but when I bought the DVD I couldn't even sit through the whole thing. |

I don't understand why Warner would not issue rights to Arrow to release House 4 in US if they don't plan to do anything with the film anyway.
