It was just Identity, the other three were supposedly OK, just a matter of taste I guess (I only bought Supremacy and it's definitely an upgrade).

Yeah, I like Supremacy and Ultimatum but the bleaching of colour from Legacy was very weird. Seeing as Universal have started putting lossy audio as the main track onto their UHD discs (see: Euro Furiouses) these Mummy UHDs could end up being epically bad if they just take the old telecines and uprez them to UHD and add lossy audio on top.

I've stuck up for Universal a lot in the Gladiator thread but other than that they have continually lived down to their less than stellar reputation with catalogue material.

I'd get Supremacy and Ultimatum right now at $15 if it wasn't for paying for all the damn Potter movies.

At least Furious 7 supposedly has amazing PQ though. At this point, I'm really hoping this doesn't become the Chaos Disc, doomed to become the most underwhelming disc ever.

Bourne Identity has that title now, and this will surely stand alongside it if it's the same old master.

Borne has lossless audio though. That alone prevents it from fulfilling the prophecy of the Chaos Disc.

I'm not an audio guy but it's cool to hear there's a benefit to the UHD for those who are.

Why the hell are they putting lossy audio on their UHD releases?

You'd have to ask them. But it appears that the international UHDs of Furiouses 6 & 7 have lossy DTS-HD High Res DTS:X rather than lossless DTS-HD Master Audio DTS:X, and on F6 the extended cut of the film only has lossy 768 Kb/s DTS 5.1 which is insane.

Yeah just say she died offscreen what was the most prevalent disease of that era?

I guess re-releasing the old ones on home-video only "links" both releases for nerds like us though, not the mainstream. Also, how could they pass up another chance to milk the Fraser movies, which have been released in every format conceivable, vhs, laserdisc, dvd, d-vhs (not sure about this one), hd-dvd, blu-ray, and of course more than once in some of those formats?

Oh Universal, you better...

Oh I don't even consider the new one a reboot

Different mummy
Different setting
Cruise is clearly not doing a brendan frazier imitation

Just a new franchise with a similar name

There is at least a lossless 5.1 or 7.1 track, right? These are the English mixes?

Even for Universal this makes no sense. "Better picture, worse sound."

Yes, English mixes. But it really does appear that the main DTS-HD mix on each disc is lossy High Res, not lossless.

My order remains at 29.99 Canadian plus 10 in shipping for a 40 total, which converted to US bucks is $30. Sure you didn't order too late?

Your order jumped back up AFTER you placed the order already? They can't do that... I'd be contacting their CS.

Yes it jumped back up after. My order date is Feb 22 and it WAS at $29.96 for a while in the order. I already sent them an e-mail, but I know their reply already..."you will receive the lowest price advertised....blah blah blah".
