The kid playing Ritchie Tozier was actually in Stranger Things.

Plus, since this version updates the timeframe so that the kids' segment takes place in the 80's as opposed to the 50's, I think it's appropriate that they look different this time around.

I think because a lot of people haven't read the book and automatically think of the 1990 mini series we all grew up with and watched. As well as the amount of films that are remakes/reboots that have come out especially in horror films so that's kinda where the label for this gets.

The source material is one long ass book, will be interesting what they add and leave out for this first film.

Oh I didn't know they updated it to the 80s. Admittedly Im not a fan of Stranger Things at all except its throwback style so I hope that show isn't what they're going for here in the movie. Granted the reasons I didn't like Stranger Things might not have anything to do with this film anyways. I just felt Stranger Things ripped Spielberg and Stephen King off way too much instead of being it's own thing.

I really have high hopes for this film (which is more than can be said for The Dark Tower). On another forum I frequent, somebody's got it listed as their favourite film of the year so far, above the likes of Get Out and Logan. It's listed as 'embargoed fall film,' but they've heavily suggested in other posts of theirs that they've seen an early cut.
I too have heard good things about preview screenings over on Reddit, so I'm super stoked for the trailer. I was never really a fan of the mini-series (Tim Curry being the only exception), so for me this one already looks way more true to the book.

The Duffer Brothers who created Stranger Things originally wanted to write IT as a mini-series but kept getting turned down, which in part is why they wrote Stranger Things instead. The influences and homages in it are clear - I think it will take until next season to see if it can hold its own.

It's creepier than I thought it would be. There is actually a good chance that this adaptation will be decent.

It looks AWESOME! I have the book lying around here, definitely going to re-read it before the movie comes out.

I've been pretty dismissive thus far, but that was one creepy great teaser!

I was expecting the trailer to be trash. Considering the remake of recent horror movies have been terrible. But this trailer looks fantastic. Love the tone it sets and doesn't reveal too much. I hope they keep it this way till the release.
