I've never liked RPG's because most seem to involve flipping about in your magical pixie boots, waving your massively over-sized sword at anything you can't hurl a hex at but Fallout 3 is bloody awesome!!!

Yeah, check out the demo on PSN for Uncharted - if you don't like the demo - you won't like the game.

The full game sets things up a lot nicer entering the temple, learning about Nate and Sully, solving some environmental puzzles then introducing the real danger. Sometimes if you don't care why you're helping the character you're less likely to take an interest and get over the learning how everything works hurdle.

Still a fun demo though.

I agree. I played the demo and thought "oh, this will probably be worth renting". And then Circuit City had a deal where you get a $20 or $25 giftcard for buying the game, and since I was on Thanksgiving break from school, at the time, I drove down and picked it up.

At first I was a bit disappointed that it seemed like it was going to be so short (because I knew ahead of time how many chapters there were, and I seemed to be flying through them), but I've since played the game over many times, so it ended up not even mattering.

Anyway, the point I meant to make is that don't be completely turned off by the demo, if it doesn't seem all that amazin. As Shin-ra said, the actual game really sucks you in, once you start from the beginning..

I don't mind at all... I admit, I'm pretty much a first person shooter guy. Cut my teeth on Doom shareware back in the ice age although many 3'rd person shooters are great as well. Sniper Elite... MGS... etc. Fallout 3 certainly changed my view of RPG's that's for sure.

Castle Wolfenstein, anyone? =)

To the OP:
It really sounds to me that you would like Fallout 3.

I've seen a trailer for Fallout 3, but not to familair with it. How is it? Since i have no more debt, i am able to purchase more BLu's and PS3 games now. Hence the reason i never looked into this sooner. I knew if i did, i would spend money i did not have

Fallout3 is pretty much real time. You start out as a baby (short lived section) and advance 10 years either as male or female - even choosing your features and hair. You have a brief stint with the fellow inhabitants of your post-nuclear bomb shelter community and then it's off to find dad who vanishes. It's out into the barren wasteland and how you answer things, how you react and act, determines how the game devolops for you. There are a TON of missions, side-missions and little things to learn. READ THE MANUAL!!! You can save anytime, anywhere over and above the auto-saves. The detail is great. The people you come across are cool, both good and bad. Your karma makes a difference and you battle massive freaks, ghould, animals and savage street people as you try and find pop. Third person, very reactive and so many choices that re-play value is extremely high. I love it.

Right now, Fallout 3 is one of my favorite PS3 games.

It really is a lot of fun. In fact, its so much fun I still bought it knowing it may not get any of the DLC. You can practically do anything you want in that game. You can completely go off the deep-end and be the must vile and disgusting human being or be the savior of the wasteland. If you don't like the main story, just go for a walk in any other direction and you'll just fall into a side quest without even trying.

Do you have a gamestop near your house? If so, go buy a used copy of a game you're interested in and if you don't like it you can return it for a full refund within 7 days. Best way to try a game before you buy it.

My recommendations:
Oblivion
Fallout 3
Resistance 2
Farcry 2
Uncharted: Drake's Fortune
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (Best FPS out there in my opinion)
