Nice that Sony made up for the crummy BD covers with these nice UHD covers. Makes the double-dip less painful.

That may have been part of the plan all along.

It would also be nice if they put the subtitles in the right font this time.

Finally they use an original poster for this movie's cover. I'm tempted to get this, even though I don't have a 4K TV yet.

Wonderful cover art. Dracula is my all time favorite book. I wish I liked the film more.

This is the one I've been anticipating for the longest! I believe this was my first blu-ray. Love the music and colours, especially the use of red, which I hope gets thoughtful HDR treatment. Most of the movie is dark so I'll be sure to reserve it for my OLED, at night, in a dark room. I love my JS9500 but feel like this movie is better suited to the inky blacks of OLED!

the soundtrack is the star of the movie, a classic. I like the movie itself, but the second half is all over the place. plus some of the acting is questionable to say the least

the 2015 remaster was good, but there's definitely room for improvement

So glad they changed the ghastly previously cover art (2015). Please Sony do the proper embossing & finish of the slipcover: Dracula title should be embossed bright red, the gargoyle and actors to the left and to the right on a dusty gray matte finish partially embossed / debossed. Dracula/Mina on the center not embossed with a glossy black background and the halo around them metallic finish fading out to black. Maybe a steelbook? :-)

I'm the opposite. Read the book, thought it wasn't as engaging as I had hoped it to be and felt it dragged on quite a bit. Now the movie I shouldn't like as much as I do considering how many issues I have with it, but the cinematography, sound and atmosphere just trumps everything.

Glad they insisted on doing practical effects for most of it, I think there's just that one crappy-looking shot in there.

How?? It's basically the same transfer, this time in 4K UHD with mild use of HDR. Don't expect dramatic changes compared to the remastered BD....

May buy down the road when it becomes cheap, it's a good movie but not one I desperately need to re-buy so I'm more than happy with my Mi4K digibook from a couple years ago.

That cover is very nice, though.

Here's a comparison of a 4k streaming rip against the 2015 disc:

Really like Sony's trend of going with theatrical poster art for their releases.

I hope there's a bigger difference than that for the 4K disc release.

I know. it will probably look the same, I'm only expecting subtle improvements

I meant that in the Mi4k blu ray, the movie looks overall great, but it shows its age in some parts (if I remember correctly it was towards the end)

This reads like a Penthouse letter. "Dear editor, let me tell you about the slipcover I met on a rainy night in Boston..."

These Sony 4k scans of the OCN look glorious on UHD, real upgrades over the BDs believe it or not. Ghostbusters was the first UHD to blow me away, and Labyrinth, Fifth Element and Leon all look amazing as well.

Yup, I can't believe the difference on Ghostbusters, 'specially now I'm watching on a bigger screen too (65" vs 55"). The most recent Mi4K Blu looks sooooooo soft in comparison.

No rainy nights, just a plain darn hot summer under the stars, lol.
Maybe, just maybe … if Sony receives creative input they will surprise us all with a striking slipcover. Better asking now than whining afterwards :-).
After all it’s the 25th anniversary.
