As much as I love the original and as much as the hate of the original drives me crazy, I have always wanted a remake of this and I never thought we would actually be getting it. It's gonna take some really bad reviews to keep me away from this one.

Why does it get hate? Curry was awesome in this role. In fact I doubt this new one will live up to his standards of the Clown.

The haters admit that Tim Curry was great, but they seem to think the rest of the actors sucked. I disagree, I think they are fine. They also seem to think it deviates too much from the book. And they don't like the spider at the end.

I've always highly enjoyed the original. My dad and I actually watched it Saturday because he hadn't seen it in a long time and he thought it held up very well. The ending is disappointing but it was also that way in the book too. I think it's a perfect example of our imaginations are better than what we actually end up seeing......or making the creature a spider was just a bad idea in the first place which is what I'm also leaning towards as well.

Not to be an *******, but can someone explain to me the questionable use of the word "hate" in these threads? It seems to me that the proper word is actually "dislike". I read these posts, and it seems to me that most people would have failed grammar in the 3rd grade. Just curious...

And by the way, I don't care for the ending of the original movie.

I thought the entire cast was great for a TV Film. And deviates from the book nowhere near as much as Kubrick's The Shining!

I've been sent a couple other drafts of the Palmer/Fukunaga script. I've only had a quick scan but they seem closer to the novel than the version that was making the rounds a while ago. For starters, Bill's actually named Bill (as opposed to Will) and he has his stutter. Some of the dialogue is very close to that which has been featured in the trailer and MTV sneak peek.

I always thought the cast was okay, a few choices just made you go "huh?" Like, was Olivia Hussey out of money or something?

I didn't really like the original miniseries too much except for Curry but this looks great so far. Looking forward to it.

Why only a friendly wager? Get him to wager his bank details, car and wife. This is going to drop it's pants and take a massive dump on the Dark Tower. Even the studio seems embarrassed by that film. It screams box office turd and I say that as a massive DT book fan.
