Too much work. lol.

Anyways, Easter 2009 is too early, now October/ November 2009, would be perfect, with tons of advertising.

Wrong. It's too late. I'm telling you, it's over. With Sony not cutting the price this Christmas, they have basically settled for 3rd place.

I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not.

Of course Sony would still want to push the PS3 as much as they can while still staying profitable.

Are u crazy the PS3 has only been out for 2 years and it $200 cheaper... Sony can only drop the price so much each year.

Seems like it's to early for a slim model. Can't wait for one to come out though, my 60gig'r is basically a counsel/space heater.

True, but I've found myself almost sweating after keeping it on for a while.

Instead of selling the one I have, maybe I should keep one for the winter and one for the summer

Yeah exactly. It's been out 2 years and it still has not been able to even match the LAUNCH price of the PS1 and PS2. IT'S TOO FRICKIN' EXPENSIVE TO COMPETE!!! With the Wii at 249.99 and the 360 with a 199.99 sku, the PS3 will continue to fall further and further behind.

Look, I understand the logistics behind why the price is what it is. I understand that at 399.99 the PS3 is a great value. All I'm saying is that perception is reality and right now the general buying public percieves the PS3as being overpriced. Sony got themselves into this situation of not being able to be competitive. They are the ones who decided to design their system in such a way that priced it out of competition. There's no point in trying to justify it. It is what it is.

And what should they do? Just call it quits now and restart the generation?

Nothing they can do really. They've made their bed and now they must lie. I just hope they've learned their lesson for the next go around.

What kind of stupidness am I reading here?

Do you really believe that a few months extra at $399 rather than $299 is going to bury a product that will be on the market for about 7 more years?

I mean seriously, think about it. It's just one holiday season, big deal!

Neither the PS1 or the PS2 were as gigantic as the PS3, they can slim down the PS3 to the PS2 size and then have a PSThree the size of the PSTwo with either 1.8" HDD or NAND Flash.

when i upgrade to a slim ps3, my old ps3 hard drive becomes useless. why change the size of the drive? not to mention, drives that small are expensive and have much lower capacities
