Had a 40in 1080p samsung for a year. Switched to a 42 in 1080p LG. Much better picture and sound. I made a great decision.

Ok, so you are comparing basically a 2 year old TV to one that was just recently released. The 61F only had a 10K contrast while the LG has 50K and 120hz processing. I would hope you see an improvement
![]() Currently $1,299.99 on Amazon shipped. Not a bad price for a TV with good good contrast ratio and 120hz processing. Last edited by HD 335; 12-19-2008 at 12:51 AM. |

Load times on BD live and BD menus are quicker on the 60gb....even the 40gb vs the original MGS/Motorstorm 80 shows the difference...it's not just PS2 games...it's also SACD/DSD support as well...add the load time/benchmarks into it and there's a clear advantage to the 60 or the original 80.

I don't really care about all that. As long as I can watch my blu rays and play video games, I could careless about anything else. |

Hands down the Samsung.......have we forgotten that LG's are horrible? I can't believe that people fall for the old " I know we'll change our company image and people will buy our products again" crap.
LG= Lucky Goldstar.........now known as LG= Life is Good. ![]() |

Don't listen to people telling you to keep the tv you have. If you want the lcd than GO FOR IT! It's your decision! I bought a panny 800u but took it back for my samsung 650 and i DON'T regert it one bit. I love the AMP and i love a bright screen, this is why i don't own a plasma. Get what you want! But if i was you, i'd go for the sammy ![]() |

If you read then entire post, it says above that I know that plasma's are better with blacks, which is why the statement at the end is Also the opening sentence is Well if a Plasma last 50,000 hours and and LCD last 50,000 hours sounds like a tie for longevity. HMM. Quote:

Well I am going to sell my LG now. I swear if a brand other than Samsung or Panasonic are mentioned, people get bashed. I have always liked LG. I know I am going to get shit for this but, I think LG is better than Samsung.

dont feel bad, personally, I have seen 2 lg's in my dads house and one is a 26" in the bedroom and a 19" in the kitchen. I thought they were nice. Dude, I have a Sony receiver and Sony speakers, you know how much stuff people say to me.... if you are happy with what you have that is all that matters... I love my Sony products.

We also have a Samsung plasma and a Westinghouse LCD. All of which look great. Granted, the plasmas look better than the LCD's, it's all personal preference. Panasonic - the price point, quality and service is perfect. It can not be beat for what you get. Above that, you have Pioneer. Sorry, but they are too expensive for what you get. I don't care if blacks are pure black - it's not worth the extra cost. Some think it is, that's fine. I would never bash anyone for it. I would just state the cost to feature ratio is too high. Panasonic is the the best IMO. Samsung, I have never viewed their LCD's so I can speak on that. You have to remember, people recommend what they have because they have used it and seen it. Remember that ![]() |
