Watched the whole film, everything looked good to me.

The cinematography, sets and visuals all looked amazing. Oldman's performance was fantastic, but a lot of the other main actors/actresses were pretty bad which is a shame as it really brings down the quality of the film. I used to be able to overlook the acting before but it distracts me more and more every time I watch the film.

Who's acting was bad to you (let's say beside Keanu Reeves)?

I always thought only Winona and Keanu were bad. Winona was better than Keanu, but still bad. Their accents even for my non-native ear sounded just... odd. I also think Hopkins is overacting in some scenes. The rest are fine.

There are plenty of over-the-top performances in the film, including Oldman's, yet it works within the context of the film. Some of the other performances are not only over-the-top but bad, especially Keanu Reeves'.

Yeah, I kind of agree. I dunno. Something about this film doesn’t completely work for me. It’s not the performances either. I like it but it’s far from great. Maybe pacing? The lack of more story details about Dracula and the backstory? More reasoning behind his actions regarding Dracula buying up real estate and his grand plan of trying to spread the virus through rats. Hmmmm.

They just quickly mention some of this stuff but you don’t get to see or experience much of it. It could of almost been a tad longer or maybe cut out some of the Lucy BS and replace those scenes with more build of of Drac. Just my opinion.

Admittedly, I’ve not seen the movie since it’s original theatrical run, but the problem with the terrible acting, especially from Reeves, wasn’t ‘camp’ or ‘melodrama’. The word I’d use is ‘wooden’.

I think Ryder and Hopkins were great in the movie. I think a lot of people wrongfully associate dramatic (or "over the top on purpose") acting with bad acting, but they're not the same thing. Hopkins in particular is hamming up the frame in every shot, but it works for the movie.

I never really cared all that much for the film. I rented the VHS when it came out, never bought until the last remastered BD. I've seen it several times but I really only started to appreciate it when I saw the UHD. As I get older I'm more interested in the moody atmospheric horro films like this.
