For those who bought it at Target in-store today (if anyone did), was it $49.99 as priced online or did they put it back to $44.99?
Just got my pre-order through UPS (and several other orders) with that latter price tag. |

Just sold mine for $10, but its to a fellow member here who buys pretty much all my 4k codes on release days, so i give em a discount as he makes sellin my codes so pain free. Between that and the $5 mystery coupon, i got the tin pack from bb for $34.11 not too shabby. Now to watch and see how the first 4k hdr tv show looks. Though anythings ganna look better than the lossy as hell 1080 torrent i saw it the first time with.

I'm still getting used to the differences between HDR and SDR. Some shots in this (even outdoors) appear a touch dimmer than the I remember from the regular version on HBO. And that's with the dynamic contrast bumped up.
It looks great, just...different. |

(1) 19.8 Mbps actually, according to this site (my mistake). Still quite low (especially compared to the days back when we used to have 5 discs for 10eps for Game of Thrones). I just hope that whoever inputted it took the average across the 3 discs. (2) I watched two features on the first disc. I was checking region playing capability on my US model Sony BDP-S5900. It has a feature in the setup that allows you to play in native resolution. Definitely 1080i/60. I have found extras, recaps/previews on HBO releases usually are (eg. Game of Thrones, Boardwalk Empire, True Blood, Rome, The Night Of etc). (3) Never would have happened, as I’m sure WB/HBO would not have wanted to fork out for a 22mm case for a 7th disc. Besides, it appears they wanted to have the same amount of episodes/extras on both 1080pBD and 2160pBD. (4) Hate when they sit on shipping. I empathise. But yeah, definitely take a look for yourself. Especially the last part of the intro. When testing Region C capability, I detected a tiny bit of banding in the top/bottom corners; However, the TV is 7 years old and the player is a cheap multi-region. ![]() |

Between this and the blue cases, I guess I should be grateful for the fact that mine came in a normal black 4k elite case with prestine discs, crappy tin be damned. Re-watching the series and it really holds up. Probably my favorite new show by a freaking mile. Also best sci-fi we've gotten in years, besides Blade Runner 2049. |

I bought it today. At Target. Completely new and sealed. I think sometimes these production lines have people manually placing discs inside. That's when you tend to see it. But to have the disc actually placed in the case with the data side facing up? I've never seen that before. |

Same here, Amazon.ca sent me one with the blue case inside. The tin was in good shape which was nice but the case itself was busted inside. I requested a replacement.

On my lunch today, I headed out to Best Buy to pick up this week's new movies (an expensive week for me as I wanted the first four Harry Potters, Cars 3, Westworld, and A Few Good Men). However, before going into Best Buy I decided to step into the Walmart right next door. In there I was pleasantly surprised to find an alternative packaging option for Westworld:S1, sans the useless tin, and with a slipbox in the same vein as The Purge Trilogy and Peanuts 4K Holiday Collection.
![]() I had no idea this even existed, as it's not listed on Blu-ray.com's database for either the US or Canada. I continued on to Best Buy to pick up the others (they didn't have A Few Good Men, but I'm hoping it shows up in the next week or two), happy to leave behind another "collectible" that I'd have to try and figure out what to do with. |

Interesting. My local indie isn't carrying the 4k at all so I'm thinking of alternatives. That's enticing. What's the price? I don't see it on their site or in the inventory of my two closest stores. Can you post the SKU? At this point I'd rather wait for a tinless, more affordable option. |

I'm in Canada, so I'm not 100% sure this is being offered in the US (although 99% of the time our countries have identical releases other than bilingual packaging up here). The strange part is, I can't find this on Walmart.ca, either... they only list the tin. The UPC is 883929620586, which yields 0 google results. I'm starting to wonder if I didn't temporarily slip into an alternate dimension when I bought this thing. |
