So, your Target broke the street date too and you picked up the 4k version?

No. I forgot all about it until I got home. It took about three good whacks with the hammer to kill the noise.

Where is the strong disagree comment? I only got much of Westworld during the second watch and now I consider it some of the best Sci-Fi I have ever seen.

So I checked out my copy today. I was shocked to discover that I much prefer the Blu-ray over the UHD. This hasn't happened to me in since Ghost in the Shell. The UHD version, while having much brighter whites, seems murky and desaturated - a bit more monochromatic by comparison.
The Blu-ray comes across much better for me - and unlike most Blu-ray's, does not look flat. Great color, good detail (where I didn't detect any improvement on the UHD) and nothing to nitpick. |

Cars 3 looks less colorful on first glance, but does have more depth and has a natural look. You have to watch with different eyes with UHD discs. And you do need a solid display that is carefully calibrated. |

Both of them represent the worst parts of the whole HDR thing. They both should be perma-banned at this point. As soon as you see their name show up in a thread, you know it's being derailed.

I just bought it for $32.99 on Amazon. Now I'll have return the $45.00 one I bought last week at Best Buy.
Basically unless it's really marked down (like this and Cabin in the Woods was for $7.99 for a short time), I really shouldn't be spending anything until BF hits. |

But Heat's posts are relentless and over the top. I think it's beyond being a HDR10+ fanboy, he posts like he's getting paid to promote it. I don't mind his points of view, it's the relentlessness of it and his trolling nature that bugs me. |
