Stan is a fantastic character and I will not have you besmirch his name, sir!

It's a great sequence and it's nice to finally see it in its entirety, but it'd be neat if it consisted of the montage of the other Losers (with 'Dear God' playing) followed immediately by Stan's speech. Basically a hybrid of the theatrical cut and the alternate scene in the extras.

Director's cut is coming later in 2018:

Quote:
Earlier this year, IT director Andy Muschietti noted that an extended Director’s Cut of this year’s hit horror film, running approximately 15-minutes longer than the theatrical version, was headed to home video. Alas, when next month’s DVD/Blu-ray/4K Ultra HD release was announced, it was sadly without any sign of the Director’s Cut.
Mind you, the home video release will be packed with eleven Deleted/Extended scenes, including an alternate gag opening, but what about that promised extended cut?
We reached out to Muschietti on Instagram earlier today, asking him if that planned Director’s Cut was still on the menu. “Yes, but in a few months,” he replied.
From what we gather, the Director’s Cut of IT will have all of those deleted/extended scenes put back into it, and we can’t help but wonder if that already infamous “Pennywise eats a baby” scene, absent from next month’s discs, will also be included in the extended version. We’re thinking that scene, and perhaps others, are being held back for the Director’s Cut release in the coming months, as added double dip incentives.

I'm beyond elated to hear that the director's cut is actually going to be released. I watched the deleted scenes today and found most of them to be worthwhile and would love to see them in the director's cut

i'll happily purchase each and every version of the film that is released. It's easily my favorite film of the past few years. I've managed to watch it 41 times in theaters but it looks like 42 will be my final theatrical viewing Thursday evening as it is leaving the last cinema in my area.

IT also convinced me to finally make the switch to 4K. My new 75" Sony television and sound system should be set up this weekend and IT will be the first thing that gets played , followed by How to Train Your Dragon, another one of my favorite films. What can I say? I like a range of films...

Glad to hear the directors cut is happening but it really should've been included with the release coming out next month.

Too late, I'm already buying the current release.

I'll wait for the directors cut when its included in complete 1-2 set when its all said and done.

I agree. But then how would they get the hardcore fans to double dip?

As long as they don't pull a Fate of the Furious and make the DC digital only then I can wait

I really hate when studios pull a double dip like that. I thought the movie was perfect in it's current form. Now will the EC have a Steelbook?

I'll wait for the Directors Cut, and skip the theatrical version. A few more months of waiting won't hurt.

I'm beyond thrilled that we are getting a DC. The theatrical was great but I could tell there were things cut out and from what I hear about what was cut they sound interesting and will make the film even better. I was worried they changed their mind or something on releasing the DC. I'll be waiting for the DC obviously.

Sometimes Itunes update Warner films to include the films extended cuts when they are released so I may not have to upgrade. They did this with Mad Max: Fury Road, including Black and Chrome but don't do this with The Hobbit/Lord of the Rings trilogies.
