I worked for the USPS in a processing plant for about a year. Those people did not give an f about anything arriving intact. Just get it out the door unless of it was below 1st class of course. Don't get me started on the farm supply stores that shipped baby chicks and would stink up the whole place....

Online retailers just don't care how the item arrives - most people will just shrug their shoulders and only care if the discs play, so why bother paying more for better packaging? It would be great if BullMoose takes greater care with the replacement - Amazon doesn't. Return something because of inappropriate packaging and they'll send the replacement exactly the same way (even if customer service assures you they won't).

It is possible for items to be protected during shipment so they aren't damaged. I do it all the time. Unless they run over something I ship with a vehicle, it's going to arrive to the recipient in the exact same condition I sent it in.

That being said, when it comes to old stock getting something in perfect condition is even more of a crapshoot, especially when it's in the type of packaging as some of these box sets.
I didn't say it wasn't their fault I just said it wasn't their fault that the USPS sat on the package. I also said they should have packaged it better. I get the complaint that every package should come perfectly secure (no one likes damaged product) but Bullmoose offers cheap and fast shipping, that sometimes comes at the cost of cutting some corners. Shipping a package with the correct box size and padding costs more than the few $$$ most of these places charge. Last time I sold a graphics card on Amazon, they gave me $6 to ship it, I spent $20 on box, padding and weight charges to send the package. I had to eat $14 on that transaction. Sorry but small businesses are not going to eat shipping cost on every package just because a few people get damaged product once in a while. Again it could have been packaged better but I've received well over 25 packages from then and never had one damaged. So I wouldn't raise my pitchfork to them about it, just simply request a replacement and ship back the damaged one.

Directly? Not that I am aware of. Indirectly? Not really sure.

I worked 3rd shift and we never moved them. They sat there. I dont know if they were the same boxes there for over a week or if the other ones got delivered and these were new ones or what. Then one day, they were all gone and I saw no more.

That was about the time I quit. $10 temp work was not worth the crap they put you through since you were not covered by their union despite being employed directly by the USPS.

Yeah, I don't doubt it. That's why it is so important for the shipper to package items properly. Whether it's USPS, UPS, FedEx, DHL - these things are going to get thrown around, loaded onto trucks, dropped, stuffed.... The Amazon envelopes I get always looked like they were ran over. That could even be happening in the fulfillment centers before they leave.

I actually hoped that BullMoose being a smaller operation would end up being similar to Amazon in the days before they got so big and started cutting corners. Not that I really hold it against any operation that sends a Blu-Ray disc in an envelope since they can get away with it with probably 99.9% of their customers. I would prefer an option for better packaging for a higher shipping cost, but I guess then they have to admit the current packaging isn't that great.

There is a small business that sells video games and they offer a shipping box for $2 extra. I love that.

I could've swore that back when someone from BullMoose was posting here that they teased something about packaging...

I've purchased countless blu rays, CDs and other things from Bullmoose over the years, and I can honestly say I've never received a damaged item from them that could be attributable to their packaging. I've never had a problem - period. Which is something I can't say about Amazon, Best Buy, etc., and others.

The bio supply outfit that I used to order from would typically send a few extra 'items' such as lizards (if you were ordering lizards), in an order to account for acts of god/ postal mishaps, etc. One year, they got loose in the building where they were delivered and I'm told even today you can find a random Anole running around in the Chemistry building.

I've been a big Amazon user for years on purchasing movies and music, here lately though I've been using Deep Discount a lot. I'm also liking what I see and hear with Bull Moose. I just ordered The Killing of a Sacred Dear and Blade Runner 2049 from them.

Also, what's up Bull Moose's release date on The Florida Project? I read some things in that movies forum that it might be delayed too. A delay I can handle, but I want that blu ray.

Should they have packaged it in a larger box with padding? Sure. Should the USPS not crush our packages? Yup. They will take care of you, one of the best small businesses I've had the pleasure of buying from. Don't let one mistake sour them for you. They have great prices, usually fast shipping and you are supporting a small business.
They should get the package in the next day or two but I still don't understand how they put the set in a box that fit it EXACTLY...I mean, not even a damn ant can squeeze by there! Let's just hope for the best, I've been wanting that set forever. And yeah I know USPS plays soccer with our packages (a la Ace Ventura: Pet Detective) but shipping it like that just increases the chance of damage. And from the reviews I've read on amazon, the I Love Lucy set seems to be pretty fragile already.

Regarding their release date for The Florida Project, it could be that it is just a placeholder date until a release date is announced? I'm assuming as long as a Blu Ray for it gets released this will lock in the price.

All you have to do is simply email them and ask for reimbursement of the shipping.
