OK. This blu-ray must be different than most. I found in the docs that setting audio output to PCM with either True HD or DTS HD sends a "2 Channel" signal to the receiver. So much for that idea.

The problem now is the fact that decoding through the player, with analog outputs to the receiver, plays in surround but no bass at all from the subwoofer. The fact that a DVD-Audio plays prefectly through the analog outputs eliminates a hardware problem with the player or the receiver.

I've recently updated to firmware version 2.5. I wonder if I got a bad download or something. Does anyone know how to start clear on the software and reinstall the latest update?

I don't mean to steal anyones thunder by trying to draw the attention to me, but I have somewhat the same issue. My receiver decodes all the lossless codecs, but my player doesn't (BDP-S300), expect for Dolby TrueHD via PCM. Although, it decodes DTS-HD. I decided to take off the PCM option just to see the DTS-HD light up on my receiver while I was watching Rambo: First Blood. But, it didn't come up as DTS-HD, it came out as DTS-EX. And it matrix'd it to 7.1 instead of being the normal 5.1. There's probably a simple solution, but I can't seem to find it.

Wrt your getting two channels, guessing you are outputting the HDMI audio signal to your TV which is then telling the receiver and/or the DMP-BD10A that your system only supports stereo. If this is the case, turning off HDMI audio output from the receiver to the TV may be the solution you are looking for.

Your HDMI audio for the DMP-BD10A needs to be on, and set to PCM for the hi-def sound.

Also, there is a LFE bug with the DMP-BD10A, so somehow you need to compenstate by bumping up your sub level by +10dB. (AvsForum thread: http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=756879)
