Is it rear projection or lcd rear projection. I have a sony e2000 RPLCD and it guestimates around 8000 hours. Good thing is its easily replaceable, just costs about $200. I have heard that cutting the tv on and leaving it on is better than cutting it off for a 45 minute trip the grcery store or something of the like. As with any bulb, the stress of off and on are what helps kill it.
