Mine is never off since it is folding when I am not using it. That would eliminate the 'accidental' on issue. If it is a problem that it is on because of cats etc., why not use the switch in the back?

Gee.. why bother with a remote at all?

Gee... we don't need an on/off button for a TV, either. Why don't we all just suck it up and use the on/off button on our TVs while we're at it?

All I'm asking is why there is not a simple on/off button on this remote, and WHY does it turn on by touching ANY button?

If there was a simple on/off button, someone would probably be complaining about turning it OFF on accident.

How about just ONE button for turning it on? And it's not a big deal, just kinda annoying.

who leaves their sixaxis laying around for their cat to sit on anyway? and, yes, this is almost as bad as someone saying that their PS3 fan is loud... have you ever tried the 360+HDDVD addon combo? that's like having a turbine on the whole time... talk about ghetto rig.

one on/off button is all when and good, well thats until your mid way thru a game and you knock the instant shutsown button by accident, how pissed would you be then.

you guys should be grateful if you have ***** turning on your PS3.

Alright... By now in the thread I'm assuming everyone knows where the on/off "button" is on the console. So this is a complaint that the BT remote doesn't have an off switch. Hmmm... Never cared because I always want to take the disc out and therefore the console button is nice and handy.

You want pussies to turn it off?

ok. I just read this thread. I've owned a PS3 AND remote for half a year now. I have goads of books and DVDs and BDs and what nots in my bed (pussies too) and i've never had this problem. even when the cases/books/pussies piled on top of each other bury my remote and controller and I have to fish them out.

But since I read this, I'll experiment by pushing the books/cases/pussies even harder. Something good might come out of it.

Someone on AVS suggested I buy a "Clapper"!

Perhaps Sony could offer some sort of Clapper discount coupon?

The way the PS3's off button works you would have to applaud for 30 seconds.
