Default Stellite TV receiver w/o HDMI : best way to connect ?

Hi everyone,
I'm with Bell TV in Quebec (Canada) and my HD receiver doesn't have HDMI out. So for now it's component out to TV and optical for sound.
But receiver has DVI output. Is it a good idea to buy a DVI to HDMI cable to be able to have image in my audio receiver and the sound will of course stay optical.
Thanks for your advice / experience.

DJ, what receiver do you have? I'm with Bell (have been for years) and I don't recall a Bell HD box that didn't have an HDMI out...

Hey Cauckle,
I have the Bell receiver model 6100 and I'm stuck with it for at least 9 months (till my contract ends).
Details of receiver here
As I know from someone installing it for Bell, they do not give people this one anymore...
Saw the new one on the site, but can't have it for now.

Sounds like you need to start notifying your cable company of small and random problems that your current box is having. The kind of problems that you call to complain about, but aren't happening when the tech guy shows up. Let his happen a couple of times and they're likely to just swap you out with a new HDMI box.

Hook that box up with a HDMI cable.

LOL, x2 on that. Done it. Once you go through the troubleshooting with their call centre in Calcutta, get a little annoyed and ask for their tech support in Toronto. Explain that your receiver sometimes won't aquire the signal, and occasionally shuts off for no apparent reason.

FWIW, you can now rent the HD PVR for $20 per month...
