Didn’t blade runner show up late or even the next day? My memory is a little fuzzy on that one, I think that’s what happened. I think it was limited also, like only two per store.

Blade Runner was extremely limited, so much so that retailers started charging a premium for the little stock that would trickle in and some people had to wait a month or more before securing a copy.

Not saying that's gonna happen here but everything so far feels very similar.

People here can look at DVD screenshots and see blurry and ugly picture, but on CRT the same screenshot will look amazing. I have 2x HDTV's, sony 4K and panasonic fullHD plasma, but both HDTV cant rival my old CRT when it comes to natural picture punch and vivid colors (DVD looks like garbage on both HDTV, but the same DVD will look amazing on CRT).
Well OLED's have perfect black, but DVD's are still going to look like crap on them. That's not because OLED is worse than CRT. It's because CRT simply didn't have the capability that OLED does to REVEAL all of the problems inherent to the DVD source. I'd also assume that that old CRT was a heck of a lot smaller than your fancy new 4K TV. As panels get better and better (and larger and larger), you're going to realize how crappy an older source like DVD is - and has always been. Your post reads like you believe CRT's were innately "better" displays, which really isn't the case.

I had a 40" 1050i CRT display and it probably weighed more than a horse.

The $300 (at the time very cheap, holiday sale sort of pricing) 40" LCD that replaced it was sharper and brighter.

Well I just ordered it again from Amazon and paid for one day shipping. I don't care how much it is, it's my favorite movie of all time done right on UHD.

I’m pretty sure it did indeed happen the same way the way I described it earlier, both are Warner releases too. =/

Those HDR-SDR caps sure are making the argument that the new BR was not handled with all the due care it deserves. The figs, zero were given evidently.

Huge shoutout to Warner Bros for not supplying any copies to the Best Buys, Walmarts, or Targets in my surrounding area.

GG *******s.

I had no trouble with BR.

This situation today is next level.

I was so looking forward to throwing this up on my Stewart tonight.

If anyone near South Hills in Pittsburgh has a copy, then please PM me if you'll swing by for a private screening. Seriously.

I had no issue with getting Blade Runner either, many people did though and it dragged on longer than any other release that comes to mind.

But anyway my copy just arrived yet I won't be able to watch it untill tonight. The anticipation is killing me!

Warners seems to have problems with stock of catalogue titles. I got lucky with Blade Runner at my BB. Either I got the last copy on the shelf or I did in store pick up and by the time I got to the store there were no copies.

I was looking forward to getting this today but I suppose I can wait. Maybe it'll be $15 on Black Friday like Blade Runner was.

Was getting this but now I'm going Arnie 'jingle all the way' mode to find a copy today. Not risking getting one without a slip in the future as some stores like to remove.
