Go figure. Even my steelbook set had a couple scratches. Good news is that theyre small and don’t move in the direction of the laser. They’ll likely play fine. Only one if Lost World and the other on Jurassic World. Jurassic Parks 1 and 3 are fine.
Going to email Universal about getting those two replaced. |

Mine was in that location as well. No movie cash from Amazon but it wasn't advertised so I'm not too worried about it.

Yes, transfers still looks very good (clear upgrade over BD, no doubts about it) but I would prefer to see more sharper grain (for example like in SPR). In JP 1-3 movies DNR is clearly used, but thank god not to the extreme (like terminator 2).

I bought the original JP trilogy when it was released on BR and I used all the digital codes then. According to Movies Anywhere, they are all flagged as an SD version, but my iTunes flags the downloads as HD. Based on that, should I redeem the codes from my 4k set, or is that pointless?

Hi guys,
i've pre-ordered my collection few week ago from Amazon and it was shipped yesterday.Since I'm not in U.S. (unfortunately)i will get my collection in next 2-3 weeks. I have 65'' 4K HDR TV and i ordered some cheap refurbished 4K player of eBay. I have incredible luck to own original movie prop from first Jurassic Park, which is Velociraptor Claw/w partial finger. Since i first time heard they are releasing JP in 4K,I've been patiently waited for it to arrive in my home. Since you guys got it today,i would appreciate if you could tell me,are the part with raptors much more clearly then 1080p or is it just a bit better? I want to screen match that prop, but i read AV review and they said that JP has slightly clearly resolution then 1080p version-is that true? Kind regards, Petar |

I find it dumb the movie cash is in the wrapper and not an insert inside the box. So instead if losing it I tried to redeem the cash now. The website doesn’t work. Oddly when I finish the web address is defaults to famdengo. Not kidding. Wtf.

... you also realize that JP1 was shot with modern, fine grain film stock such that the grain isn't supposed to be super prominent? Just because the grain isn't what you think it should be doesn't mean it was DNRed. DNR is a T2, Patton, BTTF, Star Trek 1, 3, 4, 5, 6 type of situation. This isn't that. |

I paid $68 Canadian plus tax when I ordered this 4K edition a number of months ago so I called Amazon.ca noting it now sells for $49.99. They were concerned whether I purchased it directly from Amazon or from a third party, but once confirmed that it was direct from Amazon, they applied almost a $20 dollar refund to my credit card........no issues at all. Thanks for the head up! Cobra ![]() |

That's the worst of the treatment meted out to the opticals in JP1 IMO, the others don't look quite as bad as that thankfully. Still "managed", like the bulk of the movie in general, but not as Vaseline smeary as that one. Yep. My feelings on JP1 are clear but TLW is gorgeous for da grain from virtually start to finish. |

Can any of you please provide some pics of the JP/JW box sets? I really don't want to go with the steelbook set, but would like to see how the discs are set up in the box.
Would also like to know if any of you have had any negative experiences with the packaging and, more importantly, the discs (hopefully not getting scratched up). I think most, if not all of you, have not had any major horror stories with this JP/JW set a la "The Mummy" Ultimate Trilogy set. ![]() |

Yeah, but in the case of opticals/VFX they usually go too far so the grain is no longer consistent anyway, except now it's in the other direction. Plus by removing so much they just make the mismatch in sharpness and detail more apparent.
And despite Universal's effort the grain varies wildly in Jurassic Park. They've just taken the top off it across the board so there's not much of any matching going on. And certainly the brighter exteriors would not have any detail-obscuring grain necessitating DNR. Universal are simply grain haters (at the very least dislikers.) |

By that logic, that would mean that every scene with the Jurassic Park tour vehicle in the original movie was an ad for Ford Explorer. Would you rather see a movie where every product is some faux rip-off of everyday brands? THAT would be unrealistic. Product advertising is so ingrained in our culture that you almost don't notice it in movies because it's normal to us. It's fake rip-off brands that would stick out and look weird. Not saying that's a good thing, but don't blame the movies for it, blame us consumers.
