It went up May 8th, I forgot to post here alerting people. They also added the Solo advance styles and the final style over the course of a few weeks ago.

I ordered the IW and Solo poster a few days ago and both are currently being delivered!

what's the best way to deal with a rip in a poster? i imagine tape is a major no-no, but every time i handle it (roll/unroll) the rip seems to extend a bit...

What is the poster? If it is something rare and collectible you may want to get it framed so you prevent it from ripping more. How big is the tear? The more you unroll and roll it up it sounds like you are causing more damage to it, so depending on the poster, you could perhaps put a tiny piece of the clear 3M scotch tape (make sure it's the clear type) and should prevent it from tearing more. Sure, it will alter the poster, but prevent it from tearing more.

If it’s something worth money, important to you and you don’t mind paying to have it restored it’s possible to fix.

These guys work miracles... http://www.postermountain.com/restoration.html

When I worked at a movie theater I was alllllll about the free posters. Now I have a closet full of hundreds of one sheets and bus shelters that I have no clue what to do with.

it's just an Ant-Man poster, so not very collectable

Still, every time it's handled the rip gets worse...

I guess a tiny bit of tape is probably the best solution.

Give them to me

in all seriousness, you could list them on ebay, or craiglist/kijiji and make a few bucks....

I've tried with no luck. I worked at the theater during Force Awakens and Rogue One, and those were the only posters I could successfully sell. I sold the one sheets for anywhere from $100-$300 each, and the bus shelters from $200-$500 each.

Kept a few for myself, of course, but overall I made a few thousand dollars just from Star Wars posters alone.

I'm looking for Alien: Covenant, Wonder Woman DS 27x40 posters. If any of you have any for sell. Let me know.

I would be also interested in getting whatever you have in your hands. I have recently built a 4K cinema room and I am trying to hang some posters up the walls.

My biggest pet peeve in collecting movie posters would be studio issued single sided posters. In this day and age, why? What's the point?

Why not to drymount? I just took a poster in to get framed, and have followed all but that. I should mention it's an old vhs movie poster.

It ruins the value, dry mounting is permanent.

Question - Was doing some spring cleaning and looking at posters I've accumulated through the years. Bought a Revenge of the Jedi poster back in the early 80's at the San Diego Comic Con. Checking online, it seems to pass the bootleg test but is there an authentication service/process anyone can recommend? Thanks

Drymounting alters the original state the poster came in, and it is a permanent process, so that alone devalues the poster significantly. Now if we are talking a $10 poster that you don't care about and you don't want ripples, etc. showing, you can dry mount, of its a reprinted poster, but if it is an original with a good amount of value to it, I would not recommend it.

What's the cheapest way to find an acid-free backing? I got an IW poster from DMC. Want to frame it eventually, but first I'm looking into all the options. Does any foam work or does it need to be one of the specialty ones from those poster sites?

I would recommend a Google search under "Revenge of the Jedi Movie Poster Authentication" and check out the various sites. Of the two Revenge styles made, the "no date" version is the rarest of the two, but both versions are highly sought after. I have seen my fair share of fakes throughout the years, and there are a ton of them out there. Originals do come rolled and folded by the way but then again so do the fakes too.

If you go with a less expensive frame such as something from Walmart, Aaron Brothers Framing, Michael's Arts & Crafts, etc. you will want to determine if a piece of acid-free foam board will even fit. Generally when you go with a professional framer since they are building the frame, they are used to having a piece of backing behind the poster, but with the ready-made frames some may not have the room for it. If you have the frame already, you may want to check with any local framing stores and take it in with the poster and then see if you can purchase a piece of acid-free foam board and perhaps they can cut one done to size but also determine if the thickness of the board will fit as well, and then if it does you can purchase it directly from them.
