I don't know where all confidence about Fright Night Part II is coming from I'd love to be wrong, but Scream! have already said there was a rights clearance issue with the movie, and unless something has changed prepared to be disappointed I'm not inclined to believe Vista still has this one, because like I mentioned earlier in this thread if the rights issue were really that simple we would have had answers a long time ago. Artisan released the now OOP DVD ages ago, and most if not all of those titles became Lionsgate property and if Lionsgate themselves have said they don't have it I don't know how or why that means Vista still does. If Scream! does indeed have a deal with Vista, they may only have a few select titles and even if they do have the entire library I don't know why everyone is so sure it means FNII is a part of that. If Scream! for some reason do have it, they would have been sitting on it for far too long and that doesn't seem very typical of them. They would have had to have it for almost a year if not over a year, and to have it that long just to announce it at Comic Con? That makes no sense and just sounds like wishful thinking. It was on Amazon HD recently courtesy of Vista, but it was pulled almost as quick as it went up, which suggests they no longer have the rights to it rather than the other way around. From what I've heard, it was due to an issue with the content provider, but if it's their film/property there shouldn't have been any issues.

Maybe they are saving it for a comic con announcement or at the end of this month or early next month along with 1, that's my theory.

Since it’s owned by a small independent entity, it’s possible that SF could have licensed both physical and digital rights, like they have for other titles (like Class of 1984, for example).

Yeah, it's possible, but where's the assurance that they DO have it? All I've seen is some pretty bold predictions and a lot of wishful thinking It's not even Vista's own transfer they did themselves, it's Paramount's.

I'm not saying they don't have it or that it's completely impossible, but based on everything it just doesn't seem likely Filmaf and the AFI database are not reliable either, as they just list Vista as the publisher/production company, not the current rights holder. Having the Vista digital release pulled doesn't mean anything. If Scream! indeed have the rights, why would Vista even bother? I don't know if that says anything other than them no longer owning the film, nothing else seems to make sense. That wasn't even their HD master that was on TV years ago, it came from Paramount of all people..so it's anyone's guess

Anyone else excited to get Alien Predators this week? It's a minor little horror flick but I'm glad SF picked it up.

I've never seen it but was thinking of getting it based on the trailer. Has some really bad reviews though.

Looks like Nameless Media is finally releasing an uncut Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation in HD. I've got SF's preordered, so hopefully the cut they have is also HD.

The uncut version on Nameless Media is not HD. It's been confirmed already

A rather harsh video rating for A Quiet Place in the Country on this site review - LINK.

I thought it was a perfectly decent transfer, source limitations apart with an organic look, probably better than many of the Vinegar Syndrome releases that get higher scores. Even the extras deserve better rating, a decent commentary and an excellent interview with Nero. Not trying to pick a bone with the review but anyone who is interested in the film should pick up this disc, it's a good buy.

What if they announced House on Haunted Hill (1999 remake) in a CE next week or at the first week of next month or at the comic con? that would be something, i mean it's a mystery why we have the sequel on BD but not the first one.

I just ordered it. I really don't do go for the reviews here, as I think they are a bit of a joke. I love how the reviewer says that he hasn't seen the previous DVD-r transfer, but it's, 'as good if not better an image than what's on display here.' Bravo! Keep up the good work!
