Oh, I care about Fool's Parade, love that movie and would purchase in a hot minute. it's on SonyHD regularly, looks very good so apparently there's an acceptable transfer out there for TT to take.

The Boston Strangler (1968) Che! (1969) Flaming Star (1960) How to Steal a Million (1966) Pretty Poison (1968) Royal Flash (1975) Tony Rome/Lady in Cement (1967/1968) And I also picked up spare copies of Julia (1977) and Pony Soldier (1952) since the former is one of my Top 100 Favorites of All-Time, and my copy of the latter was bought second-hand and is a little scuffed. I remember "sort of" seeing The Boston Strangler in the theater when I was a kid; my mother and father sat on either side of me and took turns covering my eyes whenever they thought it was getting too intense for my little grade school brain. It'll be fun to see it without someone's fingers hovering around my head! Flaming Star is a blind buy, but I always enjoy seeing anything with Steve Forrest, Dolores Del Rio and Richard Jaeckel, so it should be fun; Tuesday Weld's performance in Pretty Poison was nominated for Best Actress by the New York Film Critics Circle, and is a cult favorite that I've never seen; and How to Steal a Million stars Audrey Hepburn, which is all that needs to be said. The others were all blind buys at $6.95 each, but I opted for Media mail shipping which saved me $6.21, which means one of them was practically free! (I can justify anything, given the opportunity and motivation.) Hopefully, oildude and the rest of you will play nice and not try to tempt me again between now and July 5! |

Try Screen Archives, shipping is cheaper there. For example, for four items in my cart at Twilight Time Movies it's over $20 shipping to Canada, for the same number of items at Screen Archives it's just over $10 shipping.

I was tempted by the Tony Rome / Lady in Cement combo, and even had in my cart at one point. Two movies for $15, why not, right? Then I watched the trailers for both
Not only do the films appear to be more Benny Hill than Bogart, they also appear to be typical of later Sinatra efforts where he was just mailing it in. I won't deny the eye candy in both films, but I have enough other blu rays waiting to be watched. Of course, it goes without saying, that's just my opinion [insert Big Lebowski gif here]. |

They are kind of corny at times, and probably somewhat sexist and homophobic too. They're very much a product of their times, but I found the mystery aspect of the films to be really solid and the movies themselves to be mostly fun. I would think anyone who likes the movies Harper or Marlowe would probably dig these too. If you're really put off, of course don't buy them, but if anyone is intrigued I think they're worth it to check them out... you could always sell the disc if you hate them. |

I'm another that took the bait and added the Tony Rome movies to an order that I placed this morning. (I'm looking at you oildude.
![]() FWIW, the rest of my order went like this: Che! (I was in Cuba last January, so that's my connection to wanting this movie) Anastasia (I was on the fence for this one and thought I might regret it if it sells out). The Keys of the Kingdom (Great reviews on Gregory Peck and on the cinematography helped me pull the trigger) Peyton Place (Another movie that wasn't on my radar, but I bought it because of what seems to be a strong following from the reviews I read ... another one of those "this is how life was back then" movies ... like the Tony Rome movies). I still might have one more order in me before this sale is over ... specifically for Pretty Poison and the Audrey Hepburn films. |

I remember buying my first TT title The Egyptian in 2012 for $39.99. My most expensive purchase was Bell, Books and Candles paying $90.00, and the hardest to find at a reasonable price was Our Man Flint.

For those on the fence about "Pretty Poison", that one is a helluva lot of fun. Has some great twists and is very dark. Probably Anthony Perkins' best 60s role after "Psycho". Tuesday Weld is phenomenal. Give it a shot, it's great.

Just ordered Geronimo and The Seven Ups, and I ordered them from Twilight Time directly.
I also deleted my earlier post, even though it was quoted once, and still remains there. I apologize to TT. Their post representing their packing and shipping methods touched me, and I realized I was just frustrated that their distribution went from 25 miles away, to Texas. The act of a soiled 60 year-old child. So I have apologized with my wallet. Look forward to receiving my box, containing these two films. |
