Yeah, whenever I read the book I always skipped over the Black Freighter stuff. It's the most extraneous stuff in the book and was probably the first thing cut, since it wouldn't impact the overall story. It's good that they're still doing it for the fans and doing different things with it for the DVD/Blu release.

I think that when we see it for the first time, that we should keep in mind that we're seeing the Cliff Notes version and that the huge giant Blu of WATCHMEN that comes out at the end of the year will be the full version.

I thought about skipping over it but I decided not to. For me at least, it was one of those thing that once I got to it I took a pained deep breath. I wanted Watchmen! Not the black freightor stuff. But, Whatever. Not that big of a deal.
