I can see how it would not hold up well to multiple viewings but for whatever reason it pushed all the right buttons the night I watched it. I mean, I have no idea if it was supposed to be a comedy, but I just remember laughing a lot at how absurd it was. I was thoroughly entertained, which is to say that it was basically the exact opposite of my experience watching The Lost World.

The thing with Jurassic Park is that it's one of the most beloved motion pictures of all time and a very popular seller, so in-theory it should have been given the utmost care and respect, but Universal gonna Universal.

They've got form for knowing they can do next to nothing for a release and still make sales, it will be interesting to see what The Big Lebowski looks like and [deep breaths] Back to the Future whenever that gets the 4K makeover.

The next time you spend ages away from here you'll have to re-read all of your prior thoughts on x movie before chiming in on it.

I still think there's a good chance Lebowski is gonna smash JP. If it doesn't then Universal be Universaling, if it does then Universal also be Universaling

I've never seen anything quite like it. Imagine vehemently defending something, only to realise that your opinion isn't your own. Poor Velvet might require a Voight-Kampff test.

I mean, I watched it once a couple months ago, it wasn't exactly like sharing my thoughts on what the back of my hand looks like. My overall memory was "1 disappointing, 2 and 4 great, 3 meh." I think that's still pretty accurate, though 1 was more disappointing than I remembered.

When I watch The Lost World I feel like Big Bill in IT when he whiffs on IT's tongue in the Ritual of Chüd. I am simply spiraling through space and desperately trying to grasp for something familiar before I crash through the walls of our known reality and descend into the utter madness of the deadlights. I guess it's just not for me.

I don't know if I like this current Velvet all that much though. Or maybe you were always like this and I just put you on a pedestal in my mind once you'd abandoned us.

While I disagree, I'm gonna 'thank' this post just for the extensive It reference. Bravo.

UK reminds me of California when they insist they don't need A.C. and then complain every Summer about the heat.

It's not the heat, it's the humidity. That's what we say up in Canada eh.

AC is a must for me, grew up without, once I hit my 20's it was a must.

Agree about the humidity. It's horrible. a 90-degree day can end up being 115 with the heat index. And rain doesn't always help. Sometimes, it just makes things muggy and even more unbearable.

I guess it's just been a while since I've readily disagreed with someone on various things but still liked that person and didn't think they were a ****ing idiot who didn't know what they were talking about, that dichotomy is messing with my head (it'd help if you'd get your story straight though, like with your recollections of JP1 )

Pshaw. This doesn't happen every summer, that's the point! Been the hottest summer in 42 years. Would you install AC just to need it every four decades?

With climate trends you're going to need it more often than that, but then you contribute more to pollution by using AC and it just ends up making things worse.

You cannot win.

Yes. But that's because I am incredibly pathetic.
