I think the KL Insider made a mistake, Bwana Devil is with Shout.

That's now with Warner Brothers, MGM used to distribute the Samuel Goldwyn library, but no longer. The same goes with titles like Ball of Fire, Pride of the Yankees and others.

Truck Turner is great. I love the car chase with the pimp where he runs over a baby carriage full of bagels being pushed by a rabbi.

I picked up Truck Turner during one of the previous Kino sales, never having seen it before.

I'm a big fan of blaxploitation films, and Truck Turner instantly became one of my favorites.

I love it.

The only thing I remember about it is that its release date was postponed because of 9/11.

That’s just the beginning. It definitely doesn’t take itself seriously, lots of fun with a pimp funeral, an over the top hospital shootout and Nichelle Nichols talking a blue streak that might come as a shock to anyone who only knows her from Star Trek.

You and me too brother! Speaking of the Goldwyn films, sure would love to see "They Got Me Covered" come out on Blu-ray along with "The Princess and the Pirate." Have also been meaning to ask Kino Lorber Insider if any "Roads" might be involved in the Universal deal with regards to Hope/Crosby films.

Coming November 13th on Blu-ray!

The Gingerbread Man (1998)
with optional English subtitles
• Audio Commentary by director Robert Altman
• 5.1 Surround and 2.0 Lossless Audio
• Theatrical Trailer

Color 114 Minutes 1.85:1 Rated R
He knew the law, but he forgot the rules: Never get involved with a client. And never put your family in danger. Legendary director Robert Altman (The Long Goodbye, Thieves Like Us) helms this thriller based on a John Grisham (The Chamber) original story. Kenneth Branagh (Valkyrie), Robert Downey Jr. (Less Than Zero), Daryl Hannah (Summer Lovers), Tom Berenger (Shattered), Famke Janssen (Deep Rising) and Robert Duvall (True Confessions) star in this complex mystery thriller. Step into the courtly world of Savannah's top-tier law firms. Meet one of the brightest young stars of the bar, Rick Magruder (Branagh). And witness how his obsession with a beautiful, mysterious client (Embeth Davidtz, Feast of July), stalked by her deranged father, plunges him into a world of terrifying intrigue and deadly deceit. As a hurricane bears down on the city, Rick finds himself locked in a battle without a judge or jury—only an executioner. Beautifully shot by Changwei Gu (Farewell My Concubine) with a rousing score by Mark Isham (Billy Bathgate).

We passed on all the ones you mentioned, except for Shaft*. They were big DVD sellers at one time, but we guess not everyone wanted to upgrade to Blu-ray.

*Shaft and Superfly are on another level.

Thanks to those who recommend Cops and Robbers during the sale, just watched it and loved it. These 70's time capsule movies rarely disappoint for me, especially when it's a crime based film

Let me offer my kudos to Kino Lorber's customer service department. In one of the orders I placed during this recent sale, A Fistful Of Dollars was one of the titles I ordered, and they sent me A Fistful Of Dynamite instead. Honest mistake, it happens, especially with two such similar titles. I had already received Dynamite in one of the other sale orders, so now I have two.

Then I called Kino's CS and was told that a service ticket was put into action, that a copy of A Fistful Of Dollars was being sent to me, and that me returning the duplicate of A Fistful Of Dynamite wasn't even necessary, even after I offered to (I'll give it to my Dad then). That is above and beyond the call of duty as far as I'm concerned, so outstanding job and thank you very much, Kino Lorber!

ON THE SECOND DAY OF CHRISTMAS (1997) Color 89 Minutes 1.33:1 Not Rated
Trish (Mary Stuart Masterson, Benny & Joon) and her six-year-old niece, Patsy, make their living as pickpockets. But when they try to take advantage of holiday shoppers with fat wallets, they run into a little snag—a department store security guard named Bert (Mark Ruffalo, Spotlight) catches them in the act. The store owner wants them arrested, but decides to wait until Christmas is over. To ensure they don't make a run for it, he entrusts their care to Bert. With jail on the horizon, Trish and Patsy are scared for their future. But as the holiday nears its end, it looks as though a budding romance might just save them after all. Directed by James Frawley (The Muppet Movie, The Big Bus) with a teleplay by Brian Hohlfeld (Follow That Bird) and co-starring David Hewlett (The Shape of Water) and comedy legend Howard Hesseman (TV’s WKRP in Cincinnati).

EBBIE (1995) Color 90 Minutes 1.33:1 Not Rated
Based on Charles Dickins’ timeless classic A Christmas Carol. Elizabeth "Ebbie" Scrooge (Susan Lucci, TV’s All My Children) is the tyrannical owner of Dobson's department store. She takes her career very seriously and cares little about those around her, firing employees, denying charity and breaking tradition to turn a profit. When Ebbie is visited by the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future, she realizes that she knows the price of everything... but the value of nothing. As she gets a glimpse at the bridges she's burned and the love she's lost, Ebbie hopes for a fresh start. Will she get another chance to live a more generous life? Wonderfully directed by veteran George Kaczender (Don’t Let the Angels Fall) and co-starring Wendy Crewson (The Good Son), Molly Parker (TV’s Deadwood), Taran Noah Smith (TV’s Home Improvement) and Jeffrey DeMunn (TV’s Billions).

YOUNG PIONEERS (1976) Color 97 Minutes 1.33:1 Not Rated
Young and in love, David (Roger Kern) and Molly (Linda Purl) Beaton have just celebrated their wedding and are off to start their life together as homesteaders. Headed for the Dakota Territory with a few dollars and plenty of enthusiasm, they proudly stake their claim to get to work. But the Beatons quickly learn that life on the prairie isn't always easy and they must endure everything from harsh winters, to the birth of their first child, to a swarm of grasshoppers—all without the help of their families. With strong wills and support from each other, they won't give up hope, even when the going gets tough. Co-starring Robert Hays (Airplane!) and Robert Donner (High Plains Drifter).

YOUNG PIONEERS’ CHRISTMAS (1976) Color 90 Minutes 1.33:1 Not Rated
It's 1874 on the plains of the Dakotas and young couple David (Roger Kern) and Molly (Linda Purl) have just lost their first-born son. Overcome with grief, they seek support from their kind-hearted neighbors—Mr. Peters (Robert Donner) and his children, Nettie, Flora and Charlie, as well as bachelor Dan Gray (Robert Hays). The friends stick together through thick and thin, standing up for each other when poverty and railroad expansion threaten their livelihoods. As Christmas approaches, they each prepare a special gift and join together for the most memorable of all celebrations. This Christmas classic was the hit sequel to Young Pioneers, which was also televised in 1976, leading to short-lived 1978 series The Young Pioneers.

Attachment 207143
Will the YOUNG PIONEERS dvds utilize the same transfers as the previous non-Kino dvds (I think they were Echo Bridge)?
