All I can say is: good for you for posting this thread! You have every right to do so just like the other's posting there's about some great director's. Yours was a simple question, which probably only the OP's of the other threads should have even replied to. The negativity here is beyond ridiculous.

Go to whatever section of the forum you want to post in...say, this one - Movie and TV Discussion then click on Forum Tools (right side on same row that says Threads in Forum), then click Post a New Thread.

So you are the new threadmaster? People need to consult you on what threads we can and can't start? C'mon dude!!

This is the movie and TV discussion thread. It seems to me that if someone wants to start a thread about a director that's their prerogative. Nobody's forcing you to read them but for some reason you feel so compelled to complain.

guys guys, even if there's someone you largely disagree with on this site (noting some of the prior posts) doesn't mean we need to be insulting him or mocking him. this thread will be a lock waiting to happen if we do. everyone's entitled to their own way of...thinking, regardless of how different that may be from everyone else. the forum's going to attract people with completely different mindsets and opinions, way it goes

Yeah everyone is entitled to their own opinions, but there was so many negative posts about bashing directors that it is just uncalled for.

i think it's fair to question the recent surge of director "good/bad?" threads, it kind of came out nowhere and seemed weirdly coincidental to all appear within the same day or so. as long as people remain respectful i dont see what's wrong with this thread
