The German Dances With Wolves blu ray Steelbook is region B and has both cuts. Get that one. It's better art anyway.

Just got a copy of the UK blu-ray of the theatrical cut, will keep this and the MGM blu for the extended version and extras. Really not fond of steelbooks at all.

That's right! This Edition from my new favorite company SHOUT FACTORY will be released in the ONLY edition worth watching! The ORIGINAL THEATRICAL CUT!

For crying out loud, the Original Theatrical Cut was nominated for TWELVE Oscars and won SEVEN**!!!! The EDITOR won Best Editor!**

Why on Earth MGM decided to allow Jim Wilson to edit and release the Extended Cut on Blu Ray and also decided to NOT release the theatrical cut is beyond me!!

FINALLY, the US will have a theatrical cut release of this amazing film!

I already own the Original Theatrical Cut on Blu Ray in the UK Version.
However, a US version would be cool to have as well.

From Shout’s website:

"We were not able to create a new master for this release. The masters for both the theatrical and extended versions of the film were provided by the studio that licensed this title to us."

Considering what happened with Platoon, maybe this is a blessing for those who are buying this. I'm happy with my makeshift "UK theatrical cut/US extended version" combo.

As I've never owned this film on Blu-ray before, the absence of a remaster won't be a hindrance.

I preordered this one early from Amazon to make sure it arrived on release date, unlike the Platoon SteelBook (also from Shout) that didn't ship on time. But it seems this one is in the same hole as Platoon: Its shipping status is now "We'll email you when we have a delivery date" and the like. Is Amazon having a hard time getting timely stock from Shout?

^^ Amazon seems to be having a rough time getting stock of a LOT of titles as of late.
Over the past two weeks, I have received emails from them stating there is either a significant delay or an out-right cancellation on over 6 titles.
I have no idea what is going on but lately it has ben getting worse, not better.

Now, Amazon is saying the item is "currently unavailable". Unlike Platoon, it seems the only other site carrying it is Shout's own store, so I can't cancel & order from Walmart.com this time.

Mine either. I sent Amazon an e-mail asking what was going on. They apologized, said it should ship soon, and plopped a $10 gift card into my account for the inconvenience.
