Question Help! I have too many inputs!

Hey, so the thread title basically says it all. I can't seem to find a receiver to support the number of connections I have. I have the following currently that would need to be supported:
-4 HDMI inputs
-1 Component input
-6 Composite inputs
-1 vga input into my tv and audio to the receiver

I found a couple of Yamaha units that seem to provide the sufficient amount of connections, but for whatever reason, they split the audio and video connections across the back of the receiver, making it next to impossible for the wires to stretch as far as needed to connect both audio and video. I have no idea why the hell they did that.

Anyways, any help is much appreciated. Thanks for reading!

EDIT: Pricing is flexible. I'd like to keep it under $800 shipped preferably. Would consider more for the perfect unit.

looks like adding just a composite switch would really get you close

The Denon AVR-5308CI will certainly meet all your needs. Or perhaps the Denon AVP-A1HDC1 Reference Preamplifier.

A budget would help us guide you in the right direction.

You may be able to find a Denon AVR-2309CI under 800, the only thing it would need otherwise is a switch for all the composite video inputs(6 really?).

Marant SR7001 - Recertified Closeout $499.99

That Marantz looks very sexy, especially for the price. But like the Yamaha, how would I get around the audio and the video being noticeably separated on the back of the receiver? Oh, and I added my budget after the fact. I'm looking for less than $800 preferably.

Instead of using the component cables with 5 plugs, use ones with three and another with two or an optical cable, Same with the composite, use a single cable for the video and a stereo cable for the sound. That should make the wire management a little easier.

What you didn't want to send $7500 on a preamp that weighs nearly sixty pounds and still have to buy an external amplifier

That sounds like a plan, and would definitely work for a couple of my components, but what about game systems?

i have cut an incision in the wires between the component cables and then pulled them apart. If you slice in the right area and pull carefully the wires will separate and give you more room to make all the connections. The trick is doing it carefully enough where yuo don't expose any wire.

Wires that have those cores or some type of extra coupling towards the end so this doesnt' happen accidently are pretty much impossible to do.

You could also use couplers and small length audio cables (red/white) that you could couple to the componant cables to extend them for the audio connection
http://www.monoprice.com/products/pr...seq=1&format=2

They also sell composite/rca cables that have 1 end male and one end female,,,so you can just plug them into the audio cables on the componant cbale to extend their length.
http://www.monoprice.com/products/pr...seq=1&format=2

I have also found the couplers and the male/female rca cables in walmart for fairly cheap as well.

Yeah, I JUST found those. I'd probably use the couplers and then extend the audio connection from there. That should make my life a little bit easier... Thanks for the input.

Because video circuitry wreaks havoc on audio signals. The further they can keep everything, the better.

The only ones I can find are a Denon 2809 or Yamaha RX-V1800 - either has all the connections that you want and will sound fantastic - however i doubt you will get one for $800, Gearyt may have the better solution - get a decent $800 receiver and buy a switch box to cover the remaining inputs - or connect the surplus ones straight to your TV

Check this one out. I've never owned an Onkyo, but it seems to get alot of good reviews, especially this model.

The Yamaha RX-V1800 is PERFECT. Thanks so much for your input. Amazon has it for $870 and some other stores have it just for under $800. I finally found my receiver
