Please explain to me how exactly H20 is groundbreaking.

It did resume the lead character of an old and classic horror movie 20 years later. If memory serves me well, that was the first time a horror franchise did that.

It didn't though, did it? Myers had been resumed in film up until three years before H20. By the same definition Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation resumed the lead character 20yrs later about four years before H20.

Unless you wanna talk about being a direct sequel 20yrs or more after the fact, in which case Psycho II did that in 1983.

H20 is very much a 90's teen horror movie, which is what throws people off. This movie however is very much a 2010's Blumhouse horror movie, which throws me off because I think those are shit. So I guess it depends on taste, as do most things.

Love H20, May love this new one even more. But yeah wouldn’t call either of them ground breaking.

Got the soundtrack today. Wasn't expecting the nice slipbox it comes in.

To each their own. H20 was at least a more focused film and didn't have contrived storytelling or useless characters. H40 however had a better Michael Myers. Everything else is about equal.

The real question is, do you pronounce Halloween: H20 as "H Two-Oh" or "H Twenty?"

I've gone my whole life saying H Two-Oh.

I picked up the soundtrack last Friday (CD) and I've been listening to it ever since. So many great new themes as well as many of the classic themes updated and modernized.

My only nitpick is the exclusion of the classic "Laurie's Theme", replaced by a short, completely different theme. The new theme is haunting in conveying Laurie's life and emotional state, but the original Laurie's Theme was such a vital component in Carpenter's classic and also in "Halloween II." I wish the filmmakers would have seen fit to incorporate it into "Halloween 2018."
