Went in again today. Nice guy was at the electronics counter, so I asked him to scan it and explained others had paid $10. It scanned at $15, but he checked the website... same price. Still, I explained I use Blu-Ray.com to find deals, and if it was $15 I was gonna pass for now (thinking it might be ULTRA cheap on Black Friday anyway). Ended up discussing 4K TV's and sound bars. Despite not getting the movie for $10, got a couple other things I needed and checked out in Electronics which was nice.

not on this side of the pond. The Bd looks great on my Panny Plasma and the UHD looks great on my LG OLED. Given the great quality of the BD release , the UHD does improve on the video but not huge leaps and bounds. It is no way inferior to the BD and at 10 bucks it's a great steal IMO. I no longer use surround sound so I cannot comment on the soundtracks.... ![]() |

Even the Atmos (TrueHD) is not as good as the DTS-HD MA.[/QUOTE]
From this sites review: “Oblivion's Dolby Atmos soundtrack is highly impressive and features several fantastic, reference-worthy Atmos moments. This review is based on a setup with seven traditional front, center, and surround speakers (plus subwoofer) and four "height" channels. The Atmos effects begin almost immediately. Jack calls in on a comms check which is heard from Victoria's perspective; the sound literally seems to emanate from directly above the listening audience, the voice saturating the top end of the stage. Such effects are heard more than once, and they're impressive each time, presenting realistically and balanced, with no sense of forced or gimmicky sensations. Other Atmos effects are splendid. Rippling cables can be heard reverberating like guitar strings overhead around the 17:45 mark. The sound pulses through the top of the stage as if the audience were seated below in the environment where Jack finds himself. Drones and ships zoom from side to side and front to back, often with a noticeable, but more finely integrated, overhead effect. General sonic details are impressive. Gunfire is punchy and zippy. Explosions pack a healthy wallop. Music saturates the stage with seamless spread and depth around. Low end accompaniment is always deep but balanced. Dialogue is clear and well prioritized with a natural front-center positioning. This is a marvelous Dolby Atmos track with several demo-worthy moments. ” |

It doesn't look soft to me at all, and it's actually one of my demos. It's nice and sharp looking...and the Atmos is reference quality too. C'mon now. If you think the Atmos is inferior, you probably have a soundbar or some not ideal setup.
